It's unfortunate that they died by stabbing. Not the most painless or expected way to go. Condolences to family and friends of the two victims, and may the victims rest in peace.

Ack, I heard about this on twitter earlier but was hoping it was a false report, that's a terrible way to go. Condolences to both of their families.

Frightening. My condolences to the family -- I'm aware that what I say sounds so trivial in the light of the shock and pain they must be going through.

This is a shame. Nitroplus soundtracks are some of the best around. His absence will be felt.

This is incredibly shocking considering Osaka is one of the safest places in Japan, particularly Shinsaibashi.

i have never liked the euphemism "passes away", I feel it candy-coats death. I understand it's ANN's editorial policy to use "passes away" instead of "dies/has died" in headlines, and for most deaths reported on this site I don't object even if it's not the term I'd use myself. However, in a case of a murder, I find the use of "passes away" to be especially jarring, as though it detracts from the heinousness of the crime.
Anyhow, I'm not familiar with the guy's oeuvre but awful news nonetheless. |

Well then, how about we use "bite the dust, buy the farm, cash in one's chips, cease living, croak, decease, demise, depart, die, drop, expire, kick the bucket, meet one's maker, pass on, perish, succumb". Which ever way you look at it, passes away is the right term to use. The use of the word murder used in the context of the news item's title would sound ridiculous. My condolences go to the families and friends of the people who were attacked by this maniac. |

This reminds me of Cleese's speech in Graham Chapman's funeral. Anyway, disconcerting to hear this since Japan is supposed to be one of the safest countries in the world in terms of street crime. |

My condolensces to the victims family. That's just terrible to hear. Just goes to show you that violence can happen anywhere, even places we may think its safe.

It is (source), but of course, that doesn't mean street crime doesn't happen at all. |

Less crime does not mean no crime, sadly.
Especially with desperate, unemployed, suicidal people. It is a stereotype in Japan for a reason. Just a freaky news. |
