I still hate the idea of the remakes. But, Akira is much better and safer choice for Onizuka than Jin himself. I'd like to see how this will turn out. Flop or not, it'll be much better than Jin playing Onizuka.

Wow. I didn't eve know they were doing a remake. It'll be tough to outdo Sorimachi, though.

This. I can't imagine anyone else doing this role.

Though perhaps the switch is for the best because Jin's acting... well, let's just say I'm not blown away by it. Which is why I found it strangely funny who he ended up marrying, as I think she's pretty wooden herself (from what I've seen her in at least).

30 years old? A little old to play Onizuka, isn't he?

He doesn't look anything like Onizuka.

Then again neither did the first guy...

I hope they at least die his hair this time.

He's got some big shoes to fill. I think Sorimachi played an excellent Onizuka. I actually enjoyed that series more than the anime.

I suppose if it's a remake, there's no harm in casting a new lead. It will be interesting to see a fresh take on the character.

Whaaaaat?

The anime was way better than the drama. The drama might as well have been an entirely different story from the manga since the only thing that was the same was the names.
