Erm? Why as a June title? It's not yaoi...

I was thinking the same thing.

I'm starting to think the JUNE titles are just "too many dicks on the dancefloor" instead of yaoi.

Now I can finally see what all the fuss is about! I have friends who love Starry Sky, and I always feel left out, haha.

With all this otome manga that comes out in the U.S. one would hope that there'd be more otome games coming out as well :S

I love your thinking, mate.

Two of my best friends bought me an amazing Starry Sky figure (of the Sagittarius, Azusa Kinose), and I just love the other character designs, so I Can. Not. Wait. to give this manga a read! I'm sure I'll like it.

I'm just so happy DMP is publishing physical books still. Another on my must-read/buy list is The Tyrant Falls In Love, so this is super exciting!!

Can anyone recommend any other good yaoi/BL/bishounen manga from DMP?

What. The. Hell.

Starry Sky isn't even remotely yaoi! They're all in love with a GIRL.

._.

Crap, and here I was thinking I'd buy the manga...now I can't. Not with a yaoi label on it -_-

Btw, there was talk of some American company considering picking up the Starry Sky games and releasing them here. If that happens, I really hope they're just subtitled. The Japanese is so gorgeous, and I can't imagine them finding 12 sexy English voices who would be willing to voice act for an otome game -_-;;;

Digital Manga has released stories that seem similar genre-wise in their basic DMP line so I was surprised to see Starry Sky put under June. I'm not familiar with the series but when I was researching it for my post on Kuriousity, I found nothing telling me it was anything but a harem-type shoujo story.

Erica Friedman commented on the original post to say it is advertised heavily to boys' love readers in Japan, however. Makes me wonder if the decision to publish in their June line was based on a request from the original license holders. There isn't much DMP can do if that's the case.

I see that a number of you are expressing disappointment that this is a June release because you "can't" (won't, or are reluctant to) buy it because of the "yaoi" label on the cover. I'm actually someone who buys a lot of June releases (probably just about all of them lately) and I'm equally disappointed that they're watering down the label with non-BL stuff. As someone who does a lot of blind-buying, I sort of rely on the BL imprints to stick to their genre. Had I bought this expecting BL I'd have been pretty unhappy to find a "harem-type shoujo story," as kuriousity mentions above. I'm hoping it's just an isolated case and we won't be seeing just any title with bishonen tossed in with the BL, for the sake of both fandoms (which sometimes overlap but not necessarily).
