Granted it's still a couple years away .. at least.. but it's nice to see he's doing more work. I like Takahata's work a lot. It's very different. Looking forward to see this project at it's completion.

Takahata must love making animation. He's way past retirement age, at 75, and yet he starts a project that will take at least two years.

Wow, I hadn't realized it'd been that long since he made something. What he's working on sounds really cool, though. I'm looking forward to seeing it, when it's completed!

I remember this story from a collection of international children's tales that I read in grade school. It will be neat to see it come to life in a master's hands.

It was time! I love some of his movies more than Miyazaki's ones. Very Happy

I like his works as much as Miyazaki's own works. I'll be looking forward to seeing what his next film will be like, after reading this and previous annoucements regarding his first movie since My Neighbors the Yamadas.

I would be great if there were plans for DVD releases on some of his films that aren't availble in Region 1 areas. Paticularly his first film "Little Norse Prince" which is surprisely avalible on Hulu in English dub only which was previously known to be a rare English dub to find.

I'm really curious what this new film will be like, two years sure is a long time. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the results of their work! Very Happy

If Takahata is creating a film in the style of those scrolls, I can understand why it would take another two years (maybe longer); 'ambitious' doesn't even begin to describe it. :)

This does sound quite ambitious. I hope to finally see at least a few of his more recent films someday.

Great! Now all he and I have to do is live long enough for him to complete it and me to see it. No problem then. Wink
