Sounds interesting, googled for the plot:
Not really a spoiler but the plot of Light Novels I found:
The basic plot set-up is... let's see...:
One day in middle school, a girl came into the classroom and slapped Sado Tarou after telling him to die, the protagonist of the series. At that moment, he awakened to masochism. The fact that there were plenty of classmates still in the classroom really sucked and, of course, was outcasted after that event.
Yes, Tarou has masochistic body constitution that awaken whenever he is hit, cursed at, etc. etc. by females (only females, does not happen with men). Of course, he doesn't like this and he normally isn't a masochist, but he sadly has that side to him because of a rather... unfortunate reason...
Anyways, time-skip to high school (first year). Tarou has found a girl he likes and wants to confess to her. But he worries that if his M side awakens around her, she'll get creeped out. So he asks his friend, Tatsukichi, for help. Tatsukichi suggests the 2nd Volunteer Club.
Without going too much into detail, Tarou is forced to join the 2nd Volunteer Club after the president, Mio, decided to figure out a way to fix his body.
Definitely sounds unique lol.

Damn, can you imagine a "tween"-themed movie like that made here?

Agree with Fletcher1991, it does sound interesting and is at least somewhat original. Soooo, when is it coming out? I'll be waiting... MUAHAHAHAHAHA!
Character design is very appealing too, hope the animation is going to be at par:

Finally, my kind of story! You can't say that it isn't original, at least.

Sounds cool to me! Considering the number of tsunderes who populate anime, I have to think that a masochist character would have NO problem finding somebody to abuse him!
The one drag thing about this greenlit announcements is they never seem to give a rough idea of when the show itself may come out.

Seems like more often than not, though, shows start airing two seasons later.

Interesting. I haven't been around long enough to discern a pattern between announcement and broadcast yet, but I'll be curious to see if this pans out as a rough guide.

Wow they look a lot like Taiga, Ryuuji, and Minori from Toradora!, no?

Totally different artist, but yes there is a certain similarity in the character designs. The hair styles and colors are almost identical at least. If Kinokuniya has an open copy when I swing by there today then I'll have to read a bit of it and see if the story is similar too.

I can picture it now. "D-don't get the wrong idea! I'm not beating you because I like you or anything..."
Actually, given the number of tsundere characters out there and that they're often the canonical love interest, I think that makes a lot of male protagonists masochists to some degree.

That's what I said about Yakitate Japan, and that turned out to be immensely entertaining.
