So...the one featuring the guys is for girls, and the one featuring the girls is for guys? If it were the other way around, I'd think "Okay, cool; they're gonna run a mech and strategy-related title centered more around the Black Knights, featuring the guys, for male readers, and a manga that covers school and the characters' interpersonal relationships for the female readership." But...since it's the other way around, I suspect the presence of frequent cheesecake fanservice. Not that I'm opposed to that! A manga of Kallen and C.C. eating pizza and chatting in their underwear; I would buy that. I would buy it with slight embarrassment, hoping that the worker at the store's checkout counter thought I was buying a series about mechs and triumphant military coups.

On another note, I'm still waiting for season boxsets of the Code Geass anime. I've already decided that the show is a definite must-own for me, but I'm waiting until it's available in a collected edition. Anyone know a time frame on that? Given that it's Bandai releasing, probably like...five years. Neutral I can hope, though.

Aren't these ones "for guys" and "for girls" because of the shounen and shoujo-ai? Maybe not directly, but at least implied?

yes. Think of this like a soft-core doujinshi aka shoujo-ai and shounen-ai subtext.

I love that they're being so equal opportunity about this. But then again, that seems to have been the strategy behind Code Geass all along. I hope it's raked in buckets of cash for them.

They're just collections of short stories based around comedy and fanservice. I personally don't really care for that, particularly when the other manga adaptations at least have some sort of narrative, but those who are interested in this kind of material might well get something out of it.

Is it me or does Lelouch look rather gay on that image? Oh never mind. I'll end up buying Queen just for C.C. and her visible butt.

I believe that is the point/appeal.

I feel so wrong for wanting it... so very very wrong... (but, if wanting it is wrong, I don't want to be right!) Razz

I nearly placed an order at JBOX a while back. In the end, I never did. This is a good decision as I can actually read it, translated into English, and not have to pay a ridiculous amount in shipping.

I am looking forward to Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Queens and keeping an eye out for Shirley.

I would buy the Queen, but I'm not sure about getting the King. I guess I'll have to skim the King when it arrives to any book stores to find out.

After reading the article. At least what Bandai did is an example of gender equality. I'll give them prop for that. Let's hope it comes out soon in USA. I might give the one with CC and Kallen in it. It looks kinda hot. Embarassed
