Congratulations to the family!

On a very selfish note, I hope this doesn't mean another Hunter x Hunter hiatus.

Well at least some part of Togashi still works. Now we can finally put to rest the rumors that Togashi is dying, and you know admit that the man is so well off that he only needs to do a volume of work a year to raise a family.

This may have been the reason behind the previous breaks he took.

I thought it was kinda weird Naoko hadn't been doing anything in a while, a couple years ago she was starting to come out with some new minor works and it looked like she was gonna have a comeback but then went back into hiding, this explains everything now Anime hyper

Oh well. congratulations to them both! I hope the new baby is healthy.

Hopefully the new baby is healthy, likewise with the father. Togashi has been ill for what seems to be a long time, so hopefully his health becomes much better next year.

here-and-faraway: Give the man a break. His health hasn't been too great for quite some time, creating exceptional manga is quite challenging and he has a brand new son. He is a great manga artist and has spent years upon years writing/drawing Hunter X Hunter. He has more than deserved a break for all his years of hard work.

Also, the reason for the hiatuses was mainly written as "because of sudden illness of the author", but the author's comments at the end of the volumes wrote, not hiding anything, that he was playing the latest games and going on trips. As well, he had been participating in doujinshi sales exhibitions in the comic market, he was confirmed seen publishing doujinshi. Because of this, the reason for the hiatuses and the truth not being clear, and so that it wouldn't be "Many hiatuses = Cancellation", the editorial department became a target of criticism and complaints

It's amusing that these two were able to keep the baby a secret for a whole year, whereas in North America, we obsessively watch female celebrities stomachs for 'baby bumps' and the second the children are born, they become celebrities in and of themselves. Perhaps it's a case of foreign media having a bit more respect for people's privacy. That, or manga artists aren't famous enough to warrant such insanity.
But anway, congratulations to them both, and I hope their baby is happy and healthy.

Well, manga creators aren't in the public eye very often since they spend most of their time at home or in their studio, drawing. You can't really compare them to American celebrities whose "brand" is their appearance and/or their acting/singing talents, both of which are very public.

But I have to congratulate Takeuchi and Togashi! I hope the child grows up healthy and strong. Very Happy

I have gotten used to the hiatus - ten chapters - hiatus - ten chapters rhythm. Considering that Hunter X Hunter publication will restart again in the next Jump issue, there is no reason for more pessimism than usually.

And as has been said before: Both Takeuchi and Togashi have had a bunch of mega hits. They probably have easily the financial stability that Togashi wouldn't have to force himself to work under Jump's usual deadlines etc. He can afford a relaxed life with his family, while working on his story in his own time.
There will be another hiatus, and another, and another, but that's just the way Togashi is.

Exactly. Would anyone in the media give a crap if Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie suddenly had a new kid? Or Todd McFarlane and his wife? Scott Adams and his wife?
