Interesting review. I read the preview of this in Shojo Beat and wasn't really that taken with it. Then again, I've never been too taken with anything Kaori Yuki has done, as I find them to be a bit hard to read at times. Still, I have to say that this review makes me wonder if I should re-think my stance and try the series out again, because the story sounds quite interesting. And at least at three volumes it isn't the investment that Angel Sanctuary would be (I gave up on that one after 3-4 volumes).

Somehow, this felt a lot more like a review of Kaori Yuki than it did Fairy Cube :/

I've been tempted by this series since she first started writing it in Hana to Yume, but as I never, ever blind buy shoujo, I was still hoping to read up on it a bit before taking even such a small plunge. Having read a majority of Kaori Yuki's work, I suppose I have a decent idea of what to expect, but I would have liked if the review actually gave a little bit of insight as to this particular story rather than just note a few very general points amidst the fangasming over the author and how impressive she can be. But alas....

Hmm, I'll have to check this one out at Barnes and Nobel, I didn't really like Angel Scantuary but I'm willing to give this a try. And I didn't realize that most assitants weren't given credit for helping with the story, I always assumed that they were listed in the copyright pages as well.

I have to agree with the review that the art is okay. It is beautiful but when you look at Angel Sanctuary it just isn't the same.

I admit that I haven't really looked at the vol. While I love Yuki's works (big Angel and Cain fan), this one just didn't seem all that good. Maybe it's because I really don't like fairies - long history of dislike for that twerp Tinkerbell. But I suppose it deserves an actually reading of the first chapter in store.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting such a positive reaction to this volume. I feel compelled to at least take a peek at it. The three volumes part is especially attractive, considering that tons of my manga have around 20 volumes in total. Hopefully reading this will be a nice way to spend my early summer.

I'm loving this one more than the earl cain series, Ms. Yuki has demostrated she can use less blood and controversial themes (only a little Wink in this series and still keep up to the standards.
The art being inconsistent seems to be a defect of all her works though. Seems to go from super gorgeous to "could have used more work here" but I think another problems is that Ms. Yuki art is not to be seen in such a small format the volumes have. Compare how it looks in the shojo beat format and in the volume and you will see what I mean.
