I wonder if this is another alternate history story that Nintendo is passing off as a straightforward prequel, like Age of Calamity.

Not that I'd have a problem with that, because I like Age of Calamity. It's just not what was advertised.

I’m always up for more Legend of Zelda Warriors games.

I just hope it runs well because I wanted to like Age of Calamity but man it ran like garbage.

It‘s a prequel. It‘s been stated in the trailer already.

Read their post again. AoC was advertised as a prequel but ended up being an alternate history. The same could happen here.

I mean I kinda hope it does, because if it's just a prequel then, well, we know the end. (I guess I'll add spoiler tags for TOTK even though I feel like everyone's already played it). spoiler[Everyone dies but Rauru manages to seal Ganondorf under the castle, Mineru sticks herself in the Purah Pad, then Zelda dragons herself.]

Actually just typing that out I'm kinda curious who they're even gonna have be playable. I mean I kinda know from the trailer and also from having played TOTK, but also all the non-Mineru sages are basically non-characters. At least in AoC when I thought everyone was doomed it seemed like a tragic tale featuring characters I had gotten to like over the course of playing BOTW and seeing the flashbacks there. But in this one it's just gonna be Zelda, Mineru, Rauru, maybe Sonia and 4 bozos I don't know or care about.... and probably Ganondorf will also be playable I guess. Seems pretty weak compared to AoC (and especially compared to Hyrule Warriors 1).

They're still getting a lot of mileage out of the BoTW timeline.

But hey, new Hyrule Warriors and Zelda as the MC! I guess Link might be DLC if he's not actually playable at all in the main story for plot reasons.

Would be kinda redundant to do that when they already did it for Age Of Calamity.

Not to mention make no sense.
