Well, earlier today I've seen an old commercial from 1997 that used anime that was animated by Production IG and I didn't even know it existed. It turns out back in 1997 when Ghost in the Shell anime film came out in the UK. I didn't know the film would be popular enough in the UK to got Murphy's Brewery (which is owned by Heineken) and they along with an ad agency to commission a commercial for their company's Irish stout beer brand. They got Production IG to animate it because of the popularity of Ghost in the Shell, and the commercial is even listed on the studio's work list. So that's another anime's today I learned/TIL that I didn't even know that particular commercial existed until today. So what does this have to do with MLB and anime collaboration? I'm pointing out anime studio collaborating with western brands including MLB is not new, a UK/Ireland beer got a anime commercial dating back in 1997 even before anime was made cool. So the UFOTable X MLB collaboration is nothing new, and I came to realize that even back in 1997, we had something like that. Speaking of beer, I wouldn't mind and I would love to see a callback/throwback to that Murphy's anime beer commercial like having Heineken, Budweiser, Athletic Brewing, Brooklyn Brewery, Coors, or even Blue Moon teaming up with an anime studio to do something like what Murphy's and Production IG did back in 1997. |

I live in the NYC regional sports area, so I see Judge and Soto on YES and SNY respectfully almost every day. |
