I'm not familiar with this young woman nor any of her work, but anytime I read about someone who is so young passing away allegedly via suicide my heart goes out to the person involved and can't imagine what they must have went through. All my condolences to all her loved ones and family.

She is if you've ever watched The Man from Nowhere from 2010 and A Brand New Life from 2009, she was one hell of a child actress in both films. She was featured in several prominent K-dramas on the small screen like for example, she was in the 2013 K-drama remake of The Queen's Classroom. I've known her for the films, and the K-dramas she was featured in and she was well-known amongst international fans of K-dramas.

To be honest, I was surprised that ANN would report on this actress's death now that the Netflix's K-drama, Bloodhounds is based on a webtoon hence this report. Kim Sae-Ron's death is now shedding light on K-netizens' comments criticisms and the mental health tolls it take on K-celebs and including K-pop idols too. So it's pretty sad, and I hope the nation of South Korea is going through a reckoning, and a self-reflection on her death too along with the death of Sulli of the K-pop group, f(x) (who took her own life in 2019).

Social Media can be extremely dangerous. That's why I hardly use it.

Social media can be a double-edged sword. I used it to upload my photo for my albums (Facebook, & Instagram). It's also my time capsules (I had FB since 2006), so if I need to look back at something from the old day, there it is. I used social media to get my news (real authentic one, not from fake news or organization that spread misinformation/disinformation).

But I'll agree that cyberbullying and unfair shaming is the dark side of social media (that's what happened to Kim Sae-Ron). Also, you have foreign actors, and terror organizations like ISIS using social media to spread hateful and toxic message and also brainwashing people to commit terrorism or just spreading disinformation/misinformation.

So as I said, social media is a double-edged sword. I'm very careful on how to use it and I'm also very careful on how to spot misinformation/disinformation.
