Delayed for almost or exactly two years? Wow, that is quite the delay. Hopefully, we will get a longer epi. count to make-up for such a long delay.

I hope for 24-26 episodes to fully adapt the manga!

The source is LN, manga is just an adaptation. But LNs are also finished.

Hot dang! I was just talking about this in another thread. Nice to be able to finally update that line on the spreadsheet.

It'll be over twelve years after the first LN volume was published, breaking the record for Narou anime previously held by Re:Monster. I always wonder if something like that will make a story come across differently -- we've already had anime like 7th Time Loop or Do-Over Damsel, based on time-travel stories written more than half a decade later, and in general years and years of churn in the development of Narou-kei. As I recall, this one plays the yuusha-vs.-maou setting fairly straight, so we'll see if it manages to hook people.

Reminder that a new studio is taking over from Yokohama Animation Lab who don't have a great track record, and recently had to absorb thier sister company Cloud Hearts for unknown (probably financial reasons).

Honestly, at first I was excited to watch this anime back when it was first announced, hero's design notwithstanding (cover the Goddamn shoulder already!). But I've since had a chance to finally finish reading the manga and was frankly...underwhelmed. Maybe I'm jaded or something, or maybe I just had too lofty expectations having been reading it for years. I just felt there should have been, well, more to the end. Just felt sorta too easy.

It felt like it'd been a while since they announced it, but I guess that was because of the studio turnover...though Yokohama Animation Lab is kind of concerning.

I think I read somewhere the manga adapted the story differently from the LN. I hope the anime adapts it until the end.
