He was a game-changer in the localization industry for visual novels and JRPGs.

Without his founding of NIS America, you can bet Danganronpa (for as cult popular as it was for the PSP fan TL and the anime adaptation) wouldn't have ever reached the level of mainstream it has today, let alone (to a lesser extent) Ys, Utawarerumono, Legend of Heroes, Atelier, Ar Tonelico and Neptunia.
