Throwing soda on her? That's probably one of the tamer things you'll see a love-interest do to a heroine in a shoujo romcom.

Not quite cupid's arrow, but hey this isn't the most absurd meet-cute.

Maybe it's just me, but the anime Kai has a softer look and feel than the manga version.

It’s not just you. Kai has a softer look and feel to me as well. It’s a shame because his manga image fits him perfectly. Hopefully Shogo Yano will be able to make up for the softer tone.
