I was for one dead chuffed to see the word 'Chuffed' appearing in the captioning as you don't often see words from northern English vernacular appearing in anime translations!

I love all the characters so much, and, as I said in the thread for the weekly reviews, relate to Shima-kun in particular quite a bit.

The manga is one of the best and most relatable I've ever read about high school (up there with Flower of Life), and this anime adaptation has been marvelous so far. Really hoping it gets a second season.

Agreed, the absolute insanity that is Anime-Gataris is criminally overlooked.

Easily my favorite show this season. I don't usually have a lot of patience for anime high school love stories, but the characters and tone are just so warm and grounded. I definitely recognize all the characters as people I also went to high school with (I'm afraid I was definitely a Kurume for most of it, though I think I managed to be a bit more Mitsumi like by the time we graduated)

I also love the character designs! Everyone in the cast (including the background characters) are packed with personality without being over the top. I love being able to recognize the consistent background classmates that we see all the time, like the girl with the really fluffy pigtails and that one guy who has the same hair as the main character from A Silent Voice.

I don't know if the translator is English or not, but I was chuffed to bits to see that particular line included.
