Simoun will be MINE, and all of you will consider getting this as well (1st Vol. with only 6 episodes at a retail price of $19.99 is just nuts)!
Of course for me, I do have AMV ideas for this title. Though it still sucks that it's going to be sub-only.

Simoun will be mine. I just need to wait for the next MB sale, but by then, all of the volumes will probably be available to order (pre-order, at least), so that's fine.
I'll probably be getting Step Up Love Story as well.

I don't mind the lack of a dub track if they will place 6episodes for $20, especially since I usually don't listen to it. I'm glad that early reports indicate that Golden Boy has both languages, and I assume that they will keep the original track.
I'm also glad that Shura no Toki will get another release. I thought this series was worth buying at $30 per disc and found it sad that it never got much exposure. I find it really sad that Peacemaker seemed more popular.

Wow. I was going to wait for a Simoun boxset or whatnot, but at that price, I really may have to bite now.

That's a really sweet deal. I'll be getting it as well, but it will probably be on my "to buy later list". I still have to finish up acquiring older stuff I didn't get first. The new stuff can wait. So much stuff, need more "moolah"!
It would have been nice to have a dub track for it but hey, at least we got it. That's more important. For my own personal preference I really don't watch dubs anyway.
As for 'Step Up Love Story', I don't know why they are releasing the series separate. It's only 4 episodes to begin with. But again they are 2 seasons. Two episodes for each season. Well, we'll see. Most definitely I'll be putting in a preorder for that.

Step Up Love Story has a runtime of 120 minutes according to the press release, so it should all be on one DVD.

I'll buy a Simoun boxset when it comes out, but that's it. I loved the anime when I watched it fansubbed, but I don't see a great driving need to pick up these DVDs because A) to me, the English dub is my top selling point, and they aren't giving me that, B) I like art boxes and they aren't giving me one with these singles, and C) I don't want to support Media Blasters at this time because I think they're business model is highly flawed.
I'm sorry, but I do not like monolingual releases, especially ones that clearly indicate that they could have turned a profit it were done right. A singles release alone indicates that the titles can generate more profit than their niche status suggests, then the fact that they're only adding one episode more with the first disc than a normal release of a comparable length series? So what, we'll have five volumes instead of six? The price is lower per volume but not that low compared to some other cheaply released series that HAVE an English track.
I'd love to hear exactly how Media Blasters figured everything up on these various series because I don't believe Simoun and several of their other English dubless releases were incapable of turning a decent profit as bilingual releases.

Oh ok. I got a chance to see that info today on TRSI.
To be honest they should never list volumes on releases unless they are sure it's going to be released that way.
I placed a preorder at 'Deepdiscountdvd.com' just a little while ago. The price they had was $12.18. They'll have that shipped out one week earlier than the street date. Which means I'll have it the following week some days before the street date.
I'm almost tempted to pick up 'Simoun'. Same price deal. But again I don't know how they're going to space the episodes for each DVD. I'll have to wait and see. I already bought a crapload of 'MB' stuff during their big 40% sale.

I wish they'd hurry up and announce Golion and Dairugger XV. They said this year and I've been patient. So, c'mon Media Blasters...let's see an announcement for their release!
