I really don't understand how replacing a monthly manga magazine with another monthly manga magazine will change anything.

Josh: They're hoping the stronger artists will help sell it. Anyway, I'm still waiting for Beet's status...

I'm curious as to what Watsuki will have up his sleeve. We've seen his art and its quality on a weekly title now I'm curious as to how much of an improvement in quality we will see since the bar is usually set higher for monthly series, generally speaking. I'm just glad that they are NOT going to be canning Claymore and that would be a disastrous mistake on Shueishas part.

Watsuki's series for this is supposed to be 'Embalming' which he has already done two one-shot stories for, one is in the last volume of Busou Renkin and the other was part of teh JUMP the Revolution mag. I've liked what I've seen of it so far and can't wait to see it serialized. |

The Weekly Jump LJ com in this post: http://community.livejournal.com/weeklyjump/46481.html They're usually dead on in their information for anything regarding JUMP. |

There are already a couple of issues with that livejournal post. The Morita-Obata work will be a one shot, not a running manga. The official website lists Kaido, Kazu, and Fujiko as working separately, not together. Shueisha has already said that Katakura's Kurohime will not run in the magazine itself, but on a related website. Another Katakura manga will run in Jump Square instead. Denba teki na Kanojo is an old Katayama and Yamamoto novel published three years ago. The magazine might publish a sequel, but not the original Denba teki na Kanojo. |

I'm hoping Nobuhiro Watsuki will finally make something post-Kenshin that I actually like. What I heard about the Embalmer one-shot sounded kind of interesting, so hopefully (if his new series is indeed based on that) it will be good.

Yay, more Claymore and Rosario + Vampire Hopefully some of the other manga will also catch my attention, but those are the two I'm more interested in out of this list :X

Claymore would be to me the biggest reason to try and make sure that the new magazine survives. If this series were to ever get cancelled I would be so pissed about it. Getting big names for the magazine is a good thing too, making sure nothing happens to it like the last one. Especially guys from the older well known series.

Some of the mistakes have already been corrected/discussed in the comments of the LJ post - keep in mind that the post was made a week ago. New info has since become available, and has been reported, such as the Morita/Obata work being a oneshot. However, it is quite safe to assume that Watsuki's series will indeed be Embalming. The oneshots strongly give the impression that Watsuki is not done with the characters and their story yet. There would certainly be material for a continuation, and considering that he seems to enjoy the story and has spent a lot of time on it, and the second oneshot especially was very well-received by the readers... it's the likeliest scenarip, having Emba serialized. Also, the second Embalming oneshot was published on September 29 last year. I doubt Watsuki could prepare another story for serialization in only about a year. I doubt he would take the risk - he knows better than this, having had one series fail because the planning stage was cut short. |

Watsuki has mentioned a lack of time and rushing through on his part, which states quite a bit on the character bios in Buso Renkin. I'm wouldn't be surprised if he classified Buso Renkin as a failure in his mind. But IMHO Buso Renkin is not a bad series its just at times the execution seems to fall a bit flat at times which probably upset some of his fans. At the latest we will probably hear from Watsuki next year, cause I'm having doubts that his next series will be serialized coming this November. |
