− Bad art hamstrings the story every chance it gets, fairly derivative to begin with.

Such a shame; I'd heard such promising things about this manga. It's very sad that it seems to've fallen so short of its potential. Sad And the way the characters interact with one another (from what I read) sounded really interesting... *sigh*

I swear I'm going to have to start considering ANN reviews to be complete opposite of my own tastes. I love Papuwa & ANN trashed it. Recipe for Gertrude isn't outstanding, but there's more life than some Viz titles I've dropped to it. I enjoy it. The mystery is interesting enough to make one want to see the next volume & I'm 2 volumes in. It's way more interesting for my money than Full Moon Sagoshite.

well, i'm happy to hear an opposing view on this title, since i read a short sample of it at a Con and thought it was worth checking out again, but this review made me disappointed. so now i'll prob'ly give it another look anyway. thanks, CCSYueh. Wink lol i'd heard fullmoon wasn't the best series, thought th art is good enough.

hey, btw, what other series do you like? (just curious)
