.... *insert I hate 4Kids comment here*
But seriously, they've been the main reason for this issue. This really sucks for Madman in general. But I still can't believe Madman's also following suit for giving a little bit of an overprice on the edited only dvds.

Was there not a signed agreement between 4kids and Madman that an uncut version of the show would be provided? Because at this point, I think that Madman could take some sort of action against 4kids.

I don't think it makes a difference. The kids who actually watch 4Kids programming will rarely buy the edited versions on dvd. The only exception to that rule has been DB. If 4kids wants to pull this Miramaxe crap, they're gonna pay like Miramaxe did with Hero and Shaolin Soccer.

Thing with contract/licensing agreements, there's always much more than what's said in press announcements. As a guess, 4kids didn't have to do anything when it came to uncut One Piece, and Madman didn't nessecerally get promised anything, but Madman went and promised stuff anyway.

It's amusing how uncuts are wastes of time but they're willing to release 17 volumes of the edited version.
One Piece fans are fucked forever.

Or atleast until 4Kids final goes broke and they have to pawn off their lisences.... I wish that process would speed up. Sadly Yu-Gi-Oh kept them going for a while, but I figure that's died off now so maybe they'll slowly sink to their grave...

Haha, doubtful. Or maybe I'm just being negative.
...Don't count on it.

I take it that you are provoking others. C'mon, seriously? When I first saw One Piece on CN, I absolutely hated the show. I found about 3-5 episodes I actually enjoyed. Then I found out about the countless edits which could easily be described by the word "butchered", because the show was. I find the original version and I start actually liking the show. It's a huge difference that I doubt can be disputed much. I assume that you don't watch the show and could care less.
Bah, it doesn't matter. I mean, your post. What does matter is that this happened. I am pretty annoyed right now simply because I was looking to an import. Sadly, no dice. Guess I'll have to wait longer less I import subbed DVDs or download it. Being against the latter, I don't know...

No offense, but speak for yourself. I, along with many other fans of the show, were looking forward to this very much. Sorry if some are "acting like someone died", but it is quite a large blow.

lol- or a hong kong imports. I watched One Piece on CN and wanted to shoot myself. I mean someone did die- to take a guy who is suppouse to be this awesome top-notch chef with attitude and turn him into a brooklyn pizza guy....with suckers.
If they were going to kill the show that badly they might as well have never put it out there. It's an insult to the creator.
