I am compelled to mention that the selected screenshot of Creature-to Koi Shiyo! somehow reminds me of the epic that is Don't Hug me I'm Scared.

I like the "The List" format, but I think it would even be more interesting with more images. This week's case especially would benefit greatly from images showcasing the weirdness of those games instead of just small thumbnail-sized character faces next to the text.

The news image was a good eye-catcher, and I imagine most people would love to see what's so bizarre about those titles, not just read. :)

Here's the obligatory post where I say that you left out Hatoful Boyfriend.

That's all I could think about while reading the article. It's omission is a crime.

Poll: I'm thrilled that Major Motoko Kusanagi and Officer Jenny made it among the Top 3. Smile Also satisfied that Miyuki Kobayakawa made it into the poll as well.

Surprised, yet very pleased that Hidenori Goto did as well as he did in the last poll. If more people had seen the show, I'm sure he would have been even higher, but given the circumstances, that it quite respectable. Smile

There's a certain difference in definition between a dating sim and a visual novel.

A visual novel you could view as something like half-way between a video-game and a novel, where the action mostly consists of choosing among branching points of the story.

A dating sim, as the name suggests, is made to simulate dating, and typically has more complex game-play, like time limits, rolling dice for actions, and doing the right actions like giving presents to the hero/ine to raise your level etc.

Of course there are variations and often those two can overlap each other. Western translations mostly favor the visual novel variety, but there are some notable ones even here, like Littlewitch Romanesque which is even on Steam.

Wow, I totally missed that name -let alone the picture- , I apologize (I knew this VN as "Kokonoe Kokoro", so I just threw that on google and picked the first link that appeared).

Yes! More of that sweet sweet weirdness that will probably haunt me in my dreams. I'm kind of curious now... How weird can it get?

I had the impression that Hatoful Boyfriend is outright mundane compared to any of these. (I've never played any dating sims though, so I didn't know that they'd be much different from visual novels.)

I thought Hatoful Boyfriend was pretty mundane until I read the entire plot. spoiler[When I read how your character, who was once human, became a bird,] it really took a sharp turn from cute and cuddly to downright dark.

Yeah, I went through the list too and wondered about HB, so glad to see I wasn't the only one. I met the artists this year at AoD - very nice ladies.

{Edit}: Don't forget to use spoiler tags please. Thank you. ~ Psycho 101}
