man, I really want macross frontier over hear in the US, since its released by badai visual jp I wonder if bandai visual US could do it, I hate their prices but I am desperate to get more macross and would pay their outrageous prices to get it if I had to.

So no 24 minute version for the completests? But seriously: If BV has it, then their US division would probably license it. Though that would cut its audiance range down, and frankly, I'm not so sure it will get licensed in the first place. |

isn't one of the differences in bandai visual from other US companies is they don't pay license fees, since they directly part of bandai visual and not a 3rd party licensing company. Last I heard because of the macross copyright mess in japan it is either to difficult or to expensive to license this show, so this is one series that could really benefit from the status of bandai visual usa since they are the only US distributer of their kind and the only one that could bring this show over. Macross does have a solid fanbase over here, and the excitement of getting any english release would probably override the complaints about how its done, I would be preordering right now If I could, and I can't stand bandai visual usa.

I think the whole Robotech/Macross legal status will stop Frontier Really sad too, I am a huge Macross Fanboy, guess I will have to order Japanese version of disc and learn the language finally.
And when the $*#($ is Code Geass SEASON 1 coming out in the USA?? Season 2 getting the DVD treatment 3 months after airing and still no US version? The anime companies need to get on the ball people, we Americans want some Geass!! |

(Just shortening to make this response easier) I didn't know BV worked like that, so now I have a bit more hope. But like I said earlier, it might lessen the audiance; yeah, the "Macross" fans would go gaga, but everyone else would be turned off by the (probable) high price and lack of dub. And the only reason I think it has a chance in the first place is because it seems to have a lot of enthusiasm/hype around it (cause let's face it, the fans would not unite for "Macross Zero" or "Macross 7"). But I don't want to have my hopes crushed by underestimating the "Macross" legal issues; if a solid fanbase was all it really took, "DYRL?" would have gotten a real release by now (none of this "Clash of the Bionoids" nonsense). |

I would hope they'll start doing singles shortly after the CTN premier, and thats on the 26th of this month if I remember right. And holy crap, thats a lot of extras on those CG R2 Blu-rays. |

The fusing of Deculture with the new footage in the TV broadcast for episode 1 will be great. Full length performance of Sheryl's Don't Be Late :)

Depending on whether Bandai choses to release Code Geass on Blu-ray, I might have to import the R2 BD's.
By the end of the year I will have a PS3 (Actually I'll be getting this on June 12th, gamers can probably guess why) and a HD tv. Also, Code Geass would totally be worth it. Seriously one of the best shows in along time. Thank god Blu-ray region 1 includes both North America and Japan. I wouldn't even care if it didn't have subtiltes or english, if Bandai isn't releasing it on Blu-ray here. I've seen HD anime. You wouldn't think it would look that much better, but the clarity just makes the colors explode off the screen like a feast for the eyes. So, its worth it. |

Sorry folks, Macross isn't coming to the US any time soon, blame the Lawyers. It's a pity Bandai Visual is doing it too (though I think they handle all of Bandai's stuff within Japan) Because this series actually has mainstream potential

Any word on if the BD will have English subs???
May have to import even though I don't have a Blu-ray player yet. Yes, in this case I would buy something I can not watch. Crazy, I know. I still will hold out a little while for NA companies to sort out troubles, it may be possible, even if unlikely. But if the R2's don't have subs, and R1 can't bring it over, that's when I will be pissed. |
