On the newly released Justice League: The New Frontier animated movie DVD there's a 10 minute feature on the making of Gotham Knight. It includes interviews with some of the English staff, project information, info on the choices for villains (Killer Croc, Scarecrow, and Deadshot), and A TON OF ANIMATION CLIPS! If you're looking forward to Gotham Knight pick up or rent New Frontier for the feature, they're doing some amazing stuff that the stills just don't do justice to.
Emerje (I submitted this as news a few days ago, but apparently a couple random stills are more news worthy than actual new information. *shrugs*) |

This looks amazing. I can't wait. I'm not a huge DC fan, but I've always had a soft spot for Batman since the WB Animated Series was out. I absolutely loved that series (and all the spinoffs).
Hmm, not sure how official this site is, but worldsfinestonline is reporting that Kevin Conroy will be voicing Batman. Awesome. |

One source (Catsuka, generally reliable) also listed Satoshi Kon as an director. Unfortunately this information isn't repeated anywhere official (although the official list has 5 directors for 6 episodes). Since it wasn't official,I didn't mention it in the article.
Sorry about, I didn't see the submission. Perhaps Egan was waiting to add it to the next article on the topic. In a way, this article is more newsworthy, because the content in question is easily accessible. -t |

Those are my 3 favorite studios. Studio 4°C doesn't do a lot of long stuff, but I love their animation. IG of course is always good.

Is New Frontier any good? I keep eying the Bluray version and have hesitated to pick it up. |

I've not watched it yet, but the graphic novel was pretty excellent, so I guess it'll be as good as however close to the book it is. As far as this Batman business goes, am I the only one who would LOVE to see an entire 26-episode series of something like this? |

It's not as good as the graphic novel, but it is pretty excellent. It has that Silver Age of comics taste to it, but feels fresher. A lot of vibrance to the art and animation, too. It's worth a purchase. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing this sort of Animatrixesque Batman feature on DVD. |

I own it, and I can highly recommend it. I have not read the graphic novel, but it has that wonderful '50s feel to it, like you've gone back in time to a different era of comics. Bruce Timm and co have done another fantastic job. Just one more reason that I own everything he's ever produced. I'm really looking forward to Gotham Knight. Should be another winner. |

More DC-related news from Dark Horizons:
Scotsman Gerard Butler has confirmed to Empire Magazine that the animated "Tales of the Black Freighter" supplement in the original "Watchmen" graphic novel will be shot for the upcoming DVD release of the film. The comic-within-a-comic tells the tale of a castaway's mental and physical deterioration and damnation as he tries to intercept a ghost freighter headed for his hometown. "I'm going to do the voice of the captain. They're going to do it in the style of a Japanese anime and I'm totally stoked" says Butler. |

Well if those images are anything to go by I think they have a winner here, great imagery.

This definetly looks like something fun to watch, with more Batman action. I'll be looking forward to it.

Looks like after the fiasco that was Batman Forever, the franchise is coming back from the dead. Batman Begins was excellent, imo, and with The Dark Knight, and now Gotham Knight, coming, it doesn't look to be letting up anytime soon. Though I feel bad for Heath Ledger, seeing his performance should be a good tribute to his memory. I can't wait.
