I liked the interview! Thank you so much Ann.tv. Did anyone notice that Minori Chihara kept introducing herself, I wonder if that's normal for seiyuus to do that o.0

Love the interviews. Glad it was subtitled without the distractions of any narrations. Only thing I find disappointing was the lack of any clips showing the seiyuus performing. I was kinda expecting it, well, hoping for it rather.
Any chance of showing clips of it in the future? Or point us towards where we may be able to catch a glimpse of it?

I love how Gotou totally skips over the fact that she got her start (and fame) in eroge.
Why didn't the interview get posted earlier? It happened almost a year ago.
Edit: By a year, I obviously mean six months-ish. Silly me.

I think it would be a little rude to ask anyone of eroge and any other adult-rated themes in someone's professional past in an interview like this (unless, of course, you were interviewing a porno star).
In any case, the interview was very awesome. You guys at ANN were very smart to catch them at AX while they were still in America. I loved all their insights. And I especially loved how Chihara-san kept referring to herself as Yuki! LOL
Great job, guys! This TV newscast of yours is turning out to be a winner.

I'm having trouble getting this video to work. I haven't had trouble with any of the other ones. It won't go past 5 seconds in.
Anyone else have this problem?

I managed to watch it by clicking the link at the bottom, the DailyMotion link. It goes to a different website, but it plays just fine.
I hope that works for you, too.

I noticed Ellie and Mario talked more slowly this week, which was welcome. Ellie still needs to work on her enunciation a little, but they've both made a huge improvement from the first week and it's pretty much there now.
The SOS Brigade interview was great, and longer than I expected. As someone else mentioned I'm not quite sure why it wasn't posted six months ago, as some of the information is now out of date (Minori Chihara has subsequently released an album and a DVD and held a live concert, whilst Aya Hirano has released several singles), but it was interesting nevertheless.
I don't think you have any Japanese residents on staff (correct me if I'm wrong), but it would be fantastic if interviews/features with Japanese seiyuu and others involved in the anime industry could become a regular occurrence.

It always starts with Sailor Moon, whether here or Japan^^ This week's was definitely an improvement except for one thing that really bugged me. "Release in the US" Shouldn't you be saying North America since anything released in the US is also released in Canada?

I think it's a "cute" thing, or maybe a force of habit from doing interviews in another format. I actually cut out a few of her "introductions," believe it or not.

You know, I don't have a good answer for that... Kind of got overlooked over the summer, and then after that we decided to save all our new interviews for ANNtv. But we didn't want to waste it on an early episode before we got good.

Not just a little. Their managers were in the room, and they likely would have ended the interview right then and there.

It won't be an "every week" thing, but we do plan on doing much more of these. And we do have a video guy in Tokyo that shot the Michael Arias interview for us. We're working up to some very cool stuff.
Glad everyone's enjoying this week's installment! BTW, is anyone still having problems watching the video? I can't replicate the problem. Try hitting "refresh" and see if that helps.

I like how it was in subtitles. I don't like it when people get dubbed over in interviews and documentaries. Having only males to dub females is weird so that's another good thing about just subbing it.

I can understand having trouble pronouncing certain anime names, but Ellie's pronounciation of "Evangelion" is a bit odd. Certainly she's heard fans talk about it before in conversations - it's only the most popular anime of all time.
I loved the interview with Aya Hirano, Yuko Goto and Minori Chihara. I hate to sound fanboyish, but they're so adorable! I like when they're all nodding and "umm-hmm"-ing.

I caught 'Mikuru' doing it too.
I would think that it has to do with interviews that are released audio-only? I mean, if you can't see her speaking, and if you aren't familiar with their voices, it helps distinguish who is speaking. (Obviously it's not going to do much good for most American listeners, but it's probably just a habit.)
Even excluding that, I've heard that done by others. There may be some other reason for it, but I wouldn't know. This is just my guess.
I also have to admit that I tend to / used to accidentally associate 'Yuko Goto' with 'Yuki' just because of the almost-similar names. I doubt that's the reason they do it, though.
