Its ten years later and I am still quite excited (Dare I say fanboyish) to hear that the EVA movie is going to be out in less then 2 months. I am hoping that ADV or Manga entertainment announces the license for the movies during the con season.

eva movie? Yawns not really interested in yet another remake/take/side story of this old show. Yeah I might have been intersted in this like years ago but there are other things that are more interesting.

Yaaaay~ I am definitely seeing both Evangelion and Clannad. September is gonna be a busy month for me in Japan!
I'm surprised to see near exact reproductions of scenes from the original TV series in the Eva trailer, but I'm definitely interested to see how Kaworu's early introduction pans out... along with the new character they keep mentioning. As an Eva fan for nearly 10 years, this is exciting. Clannad I honestly don't know much about, but as a big fan of AIR I'm happy to get to see a Key feature in theaters. |

Well, I couldn't view the trailer on that site, so I had to see it through other means. Anyway, it looks absolutely beautiful. Even if I wasn't already looking forward to the movie it looks like its worth watching just for the animation. Its too bad that when it finally reaches America it probably won't play in theaters. And I'd be surprised if it wasn't licensed before it hit DVD in Japan, so any fansubs would be of pirated versions. *Sigh*

I initially had some trouble as well until I realized that I didn't have Quicktime plugin turn on, that or you might want to run the trailer on a different browser. |

So I got this out of the summary: New century エヴァンゲリオン ' unprecedented SF animation super Daisaku. Heart of the person, it approached to the relationship of the person between the person, and the foundation of the formation of the person via the fight of the girl and "the apostle" ride in the enormous human model decisive battle weapon of puzzle who, pulled out, it is the story of the largest scale in mankind history. You answered the demand for new age, the new story for the new audience was prepared. The name ' ヱヴァンゲリヲン new theater edition ' all the fourth section works. It hits to the first volume, it hits to "beginning" and the medium compilation, "destruction". And as for rust the second volume "emergency" and completion compilation "?" With the schedule which becomes 2 section constitution. As for beginning you start from the almost same scene as the old work as an introduction. But that "エヴァ" peculiarity the feeling which "does not know quite whether to somewhere it keeps accompanying," revives from the middle. The story of the same expectation changes, eventually the sign which is renovated is imbedded to everywhere. |

Heehee, same here. For a while I kidded myself into thinking I wasn't going to see either, but I saw the trailer for the Eva movie before Harry Potter and my mouth just dropped wide open. I mean it looked good. And then I finally got around to watching the AIR movie (found the usually 9,900 yen collector's edition used for under 3,000 yen, can anyone say score?) and realized that it was actually better than the TV series (which is saying something from me). |

I liked the trailer. Nice slick shots of the buildings rising from the ground, and good CG shots of the Angels, especially nice seeing Ramiel in CG. The art style still looks the same, even after 10 years, I'm glad they're keeping it the same.

It was...though that recording is more than a few years old. The movie trailer looks very promising. Superb animation quality and similar in its execution to Diebuster. However, I hope the acutal quality of the movie itself is closer to the original Eva movies than the TV series. Hopefully, this will see a U.S. theatrical run in the near future (with big studio distribution, along with the original dub cast, possible if Manga/Starz Media gets ahold of it). |

Wow, lucky! I'm going to be on a lookout for the DVDs once I get there at the end of August. I'd say something corny like "let's go see them together!" but it looks like you're in Aichi whereas I'll be in Saitama. D:
Yeah, Kaworu shows up in movie 1 (which only, apparently, covers events up until about episode 6 -- which is before even Asuka appears) and there's a new character in the cast, presumably a new student, in this first movie as well. I'm certainly excited. I'm even already antsy to hear release dates for the next movies.
True, but it's a new remix for this movie's release. Maybe not a new vocal recording though...
The buildings rising up were my favorite part of the trailer. The movie is definitely going to look amazing with the technology update. |

Actually, I remember reading that said character appears in the second film, but that could be wrong. Also, since the teaser trailer for "Rebuild" mentioned a new Eva, this character is probably it's pilot. I just hope they're an addition instead of a replacement for Asuka (she was my favorite character). |

I don't think they'd dare upset the fans that much when it's basically made for them...*crosses fingers* |

Ah yes, I just looked it up again and the new character is in the second film. More reason to look forward to it next year! Now I'm wondering where they're going to pull this new character from when Kaworu is chillin' in movie 1. I think they'd have a frightening revolt if Asuka was replaced entirely. She's far too important of a character, and has been at the front of their Eva merchandising (with Rei) for the last 10 years nonstop. Besides, the newest merchandise they're pulling out, in relation to this film, includes her prominently: http://www.evangelion.co.jp/petit_eva/ |
