What really pissed me off about Beautiful World was that the UK had it weeks before the Japanese release, and I couldn't download because it was in pounds.
Similarly, when it was finally released in Japan, I couldn't download it because it was in Yen. iTunes should really look into a conversion method.
That said... I bought the CD and wow. <3 Good stuff.

Utada + world's best-selling artist in ANY capacity is very surprising to me. Sure, she's huge in Japan and East Asia, but I figured that certain American or European artists are bigger and in more countries.
Pleasant surprise. Go Utada!

Congrats to Utada Hikaru Beautiful World is indeed a nice song.
I knew her as the singer for both OP in the Kingdom Hearts games. Was glad that she sang for RebEVA 1.0 too.
Looking forward to hear more great songs from her ^^

Never really been into most of Utada Hikaru songs I think she's a bit overated. I prefer Koda Kumi.

- "Kiss & Cry," a theme song for the Freedom Project anime and commercials, has sold 842,000 times since April.
- The "Fly Me To The Moon (In Other Words)-2007 Mix" used in the Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone trailer has sold 276,000 times since June 29.
- "Beautiful World," the ending theme of the actual movie, has sold 881,000 times since July 23.
Please do refrain from flaming every Eva movie related news.

But actually, when I think about it, my comment isn't entirely off, because it's clear the main reason people d/led the new theme song was cus of her, while most fans could care less about the old one, which probably means the series isn't as big anymore. That makes me wonder if her song wasn't a major factor in the film's success[by non-inflation standards].

Or....it's because "Fly Me To The Moon (In Other Words)-2007 Mix" is a remix of a song Utada already released twice seven years ago.

Wow, you're still in denial that this movie sold more than the other Eva movies, when adjusted for deflation or not adjusted.
You do remember that Japan went throught deflation this past decade, not inflation, right?

I find it interesting that this album made so much dough. Yet folks have been criticising it because it lacks that old 'Utada' feel when she was doing 'Automatic'. Well, I'm no music expert so I wouldn't catch this stuff. I guess you have to be a connoiseur of music to understand. Then again maybe not. That's utter BS.
Maybe my hate for 'Fly Me to the Moon' is catching up with me.
Oh why, oh why did it have to be 'Utada-san'?

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that she's American (she was born in New York City). Still, hopefully this'll get the word out about her around America.
