I was fooling around with Wikipedia yesterday and in looking at the Sailor Moon page, I found this at the bottom where it gave additonal links to more SM information:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_Sailor_Moon Has anybody seen this before? It seems sort of cute actually. Although it does seem like this new heroine, Kousugi, spoiler["worse" than Usagi when it comes to certain things.] IF the Sailor Moon manga are EVER re-released, I hope that this little story will be included. |

Hahaha... What a strange little story. Ami a poor doctor? Rei married? If Sailor Moon ever got re-released (doubt that it will...) then I agree this would be fun to have as a bonus.
'Sailor Muscle Meeting'...? |

Oh I thought you were talking about the Americanized Sailor Moon version that never made it - for good reasons. They casted Ami as a black girl in a wheel chair!. It's just too funny.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwQSWrA9CNg There's another video out there where Ami transforms. [/url] |

I've seen that before...it's just plain scary. I'm very glad that Sabin didn't waste their money and went any further with it. And sadly, now that I think about it, I might have watched it...if it had made it to my TV! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

There isn't really much more info wise I can add, but I will agree that it was a cute little short story. All of the side stories were good though. But this one was definitely the most light hearted one IMO. It's a shame she didn't do a little one or two novel set on this.

Yes, but Sabin was the company behind it. There's a longer version of that same video with a Sabin spokesman talking about it. http://youtube.com/watch?v=6abDYZsfnbw |

I can definitely verify the existence of the Parallel Moon. I have it in my Materials Collection artbook, as well as the re-released version of the manga (it came in a seperate Short Stories collection). I remember reading through it and finding it quite cute, although it's been a long time since I've attempted reading it. It was nice seeing the other senshi having kids. ^_- Sometimes the anime (I've only read portions of the manga) painted a rather bleak portrait of their lives, with Serenity getting off hunky dory but the rest of them seeming to be stuck in their senshi roles (R just gave me a bad vibe that way) without opportunity for their own personal lives.

I have to agree with you on that point. Usagi gets to have a husband and children, but the others seem to stay limited. Well, I guess you could broaden that to the moon family since spoiler[It is alluded to that ChibiUsa will find her prince in Helios, and will more than likely have a child as did the previous queens. ] Which is really sad when you think about the SuperS arc, and how it's all about dreams. You learn what all of the senshi's dreams are, but when you think back to the Black Moon arc, you see what their futures hold for them, and none of them lived their dreams. I guess you could say that the closest any of the other senshi came to having children would be spoiler[ the outer senshi when they raised Saturn breifly until she re-grew up in the SuperS arc. ]
i wonder if it is necessary at this point to use the spoilers for a story like Sailor Moon. I wonder if there is anyone out there who hasn't read it (and not because you don't want to). |

Just like you, I've always been bugged at the idea that the other sailor senshi are not very developed when talking about this department. I think this is why it was so cute to read Parallel Sailor Moon. Because in a way I have succeeded in seeing a different future for all the other girls. I mean some of them had some promising relationships: Rei or Ami had strong possibilities in becoming romantically happy. But, hey, even Makoto with her strong capability of getting easily in love would have had some strong chances. I think that sometimes I was unsatisfied with the way the stories of the other girls turned.
Parallel Sailor Moon, easy to read and funny, gives us the possibility of perhaps seeing a different future for the characters that we all loved. For me at least, it has been a rewarding experience as, even if it's in a little short-story, unknown by many, some of the romantic ideas that I had for those characters became true. |

Now that I've read it myself, it really is a cute little story. And the others are right in that you are able to see that the Senshi have had a chance for a happy life with men that they love and children.
And another great thing is that Takeuchi-san didn't change their characterizations at all. That there wasn't anything glaringly different that made you say "These are the girls that I know." |
