That's what I call cross-media synergy.

"Island" after "Edward".
Do not confuse "Prince Edward Island" Canada with the "Prince Edward Islands" in the Southern Ocean when making vacation plans (unless sitting on a desolate piece of rock watching sea birds and marine mammals is your thing).

I'm SO EXCITED!!! I LOVE Anne of Green Gables, it's such an incredibly timeless story and meant a lot to me as a young girl. What lovely news.

Not surprised. I'm betting this is another way to promote the new 2025 anime. Still, this is great! I hope this comes to the US in some capacity, even though I personally prefer the Yumiko Igarashi manga version.

I was just wondering if this new adaptation is going to be shown outside of Japan, I mean, it's based on a world famous Canadian novel, it would make sense for it to be dubbed into English and French. To my knowledge, the 1979 World Masterpiece Theater adaptation handled by Isao Takahata wasn't dubbed into English, but I've heard it aired in French-speaking Canada, it did get dubbed into European Spanish, French, Italian and Arabic. I can see this new Anne of Green Gables adaptation being acquired by Netflix or Disney+

Actually, the 1979 anime did get an English dub that was commissioned in Africa with a primarily British staff and voice cast, albeit most of them are uncredited. It's up on YouTube in several different levels of quality.

I hope it will get a Canadian dub. It has to. There is no bigger THIS IS CANADA anime than Anne Of Green Gables.

As a Canadian I know it would be preferable to get Ocean Studios (the GOAT when it comes to English dubbing in Canada) but realistically it'll probably go to Ciné-Groupe J.P. in Quebec as they make both English & French dubs
