Man what is with trailers being non-stop cuts? Here's hoping we get a more coherent trailer next time.
That said it looks promising so far.

I think his name is Shintaro Kazama, not Kazuma.

I guess we'll see what they mean by "partially based" on the first game. What I'd like to see is emphasis on that period in the 90s to sort of fill in a gap between Yakuza 0 and 1.

You are correct. The typo is a common mistake regularly made in English discussions of the series. Kiryu's family name "Kazuma" (桐生), and his adoptive Father's family name "Kazama" (風間) are actually different, both in pronunciation and Kanji. But the fact that the romanization of these family names are only 1 letter off from each other, combined with the their adopted father-son relationship, regularly causes English fans to mistakenly believe they are the same.

You have said 'Kiryu's family name' and '桐生,' but perhaps you mean something like 'Kiryū's given name "Kazuma" (一馬)'?
Sega's official site says that the name of the character in question is 桐生 一馬 (Kiryū Kazuma).
