So that's why Crunchyroll took the series off its platform. I would say that sucks but this could be good news for Rwvy and its fans as they can adapt more books and send those to bigger platforms with broader audiences like Netflix or Disney+

Viz huh?

If I was them, reboot. They have Japanese partners that can avoid Rooster Teeth Vision. Give me RWBY Brotherhood.

They should do a total reboot. New writers, new actors, everything.

In the US Viz puts their popular stuff basically everywhere for free, PlutoTV, Youtube, Tubi, i mean they have it on Hoopla for crying out loud. Plus their stuff is usually on Hulu/Disney+ so I say we win no matter what

100%, no reboot with modernization nonsense. remake it with some tweaks here and there and voila.*chief kiss*

You talk like RWBY is some super old show when it came out in 2012.

Since the series was with Warner before, this is similar to like when Warner released Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure but then Viz Media took over it even though Viz Media titles are Distributed by Warner.

Considering their little FAQ very slyly avoids talking about a new season to the main show, it pretty much guarantees they're going to reboot it, like there's no way they won't, anyone with even minor knowledge in marketing knows the longer a serialized media product goes on the less accessible it becomes, and considering how irrelevant rwby is these days, there's no way anything Viz makes following the main storyline is ever gonna pay for itself (RT had to go to Crunchyroll to even get their 9th season funded at all, and then had to take on those ill-conceived Justice League crossover movies to even keep the lights on for a little longer).

Edit: Just to clarify I'm talking about if they keep things animated, maybe they'll resort to a graphic novel or a book to finish their story.

Most of RWBY was released for free, whether it be the RT site or YouTube. It's just harder to find for free now. You can currently find it on the Archive of Pimps but I suspect they may have to pull it.

The announcement on the VIZ YT site makes it appear they're going with the same team. Which makes it easier for VIZ. VIZ will really only be dealing with funding and distribution.

My first assumption with Viz's installment was they'd continue the series in book format but hopefully they'll be able to bring back the show proper.

I don't mean to alarm you, but 2012 was over a decade ago. So, no, not a 'super' old show, but I wouldn't exactly call it modern either.
