Yeah. It 's kinda awkward how the original Shaman King got around 50 episodes without any delays rushing the ending a bit while Flowers barely got a cour that screams "We have been canceled". spoiler[As much as I despise Hana, there are parts of his character that have potential like how he forces himself into Yohane's life but sadly that part goes out of the way in a recycled romance that works less because Hana doesn't remember a thing about the love interest in contrast to Yoh's relationship with Anna.
In general most relationships seem forced as if the opening shows you that everybody is already family but instead most of them have tried killing Hana over and over again. Poor Amidamaru got the biggest shaft out of all returning characters. At least the designs of the new oversouls are striking. Can't say that much about the fight sequences. And Yoh's and Anna's disappearance from Hana's life feels forced and vague especially when they talk with Hao about it and they just say there is a danger or something. The last scene from the series at least tries to make Hana realize how trash he is when realizing what he lacks to obtain the strength he needs but the anime ends and not a single preview.] |

The complaints are really valid, especially if they never animate the other manga content, but I’ll still take this over a rushed anime-original ending.
I hope this gets dubbed, but reportedly, Netflix almost didn’t even stream this one, which doesn’t bode well. |

If I remember correctly, the problem with the series was not that it got cancelled, but the magazine itself did.
The plot do continues in Shaman King: The Super Star, but, if you are a Shaman King fan you should be used to having to hop across different magazines and series with random names to get the full picture. Anyways, Flowers its over and that's the ending, a continuation would be called Super Star. And yes, the team suddenly forming and being friends it's the most artificial thing I have read. |

Interesting comment from the series director:
"Initially, we were told that there would be two seasons for this project, including both Flowers and The Super Star. But at the time we didn’t know how the series would end. We discussed, and determined no one would be happy if we did an original ending. So we decided to only move forward with Flowers. The rest is up to you, Takei-sensei!" So Super Star is the canonical sequel but already just by staring at the cover of the first volume, it feels like Takei is having second feelings about Hana or the plot considering it's teenage Yoh in the cover with a tiny version of Spirit of the Earth |

And yet how many adapted anime even in the modern era still do this? Supposed discontent be damned. |

It's been a while, but I remember correctly: spoiler[The first thing we do in Super Star is to follow Hana's fiance doing...something in some random town in the middle of somewhere (can't remember what), it quite frankly didn't give me the idea of Takei backpedaling since the whole thing it's to properly present her and show her personality as the new heroine.] |

Super Star came out about 5 years after Flowers ended, but reading them back-to-back, it's pretty much a direct continuation of the story in Flowers. A new arc begins but if I recall it's like the next day in story-time. As of now Super Star has lasted longer than Flowers' initial run and has a couple more volumes over it. |

Continue to wish for better for Shaman King anime-wise (though I guess it can't be helped from the material they're adapting).

I struggled to get through the 2021 adaptation, and I struggled to get through this one too. I didn't like any of the main cast, the action was weak and story a wet blanket. It's not even "bad" it's just really boring and that's worse.
