I dislike the vertical scrolling format even when reading in smartphones, which are the intended medium. There's a sense of wrongness to it. I can tolerate it, but I'm much more used to the ebook format.

Same, in my perspective, vertical comic usually lacks in detail, have bad coloring, or too many usage of generic 3D asset for background etc.

Oh this site does the mechacomic thing where they crop out the manga panel by panel to fit the vertical format…. My one experience with this kinda format was harrowing, bits of the artwork that didn't fit in the rectangle would be cut off and if there was a large panel with multiple text boxes, they would have one panel with the first textbox, and then just paste the same artwork again with the other textbox for the next panel. Like its fine for webtoons/other works made with the vertical scrolling format in mind, but for manga, paneling is such an integral part of the craft that cropping it to fit the vertical format almost feels disrespectful imo… Even if I still regularly read eng translated manga this site would be a hard pass lmao.

The first five chapters of each series are available for free.

Why it is hard to have a "Manga Plus"-Modell? I mean, the first five chapters are really nice, but what about most recent chapters? Something like "Simulcast for Manga" would be great.
