Hayao Miyazaki: "I swear this time is REALLY the last one! I'll retire for sure!"

^ meh I hope he never stop making anime. I feel like he's one of those that truly have respect for anime as an art, even though I don't really like his movies as much as the others do.

I hope he lives long enough to finish it. Sounds like it will be completely CG though, which is a shame.

He will die over his drawing table, with Tezuka´s final words as his own too.
Ghibli is doing one last tour then, i guess. Great. They didn´t have much to do with The Red Turtle but that 2016 film is very much worth your time.

What a man does in his retirement is really up to him.

I've always believed no artist can retire while fire burns inside of them. It is art that keeps them alive somehow. I couln't be more glad for his return.

I'll believe Miyazaki is actually done animating when he's dead.

Quote: | The NHK special in November revealed, however, that Miyazaki was not satisfied with the CG project as a short, and he presented a project proposal for a feature-length film this past August. |
I had this one called from the minute I read the headline:
Only Death will stop Hayao from making his Caterpillar Epic, and now I'm ashamed to start rooting for it.

Can someone please explain to Miyazaki what "retirement" means? Go home! Hang out with your family!
But I guess retirement isn't for everybody. If he's happier working, he should continue working.

Thank god! Anime still lives as long as he's making it. I wonder if it will be a samurai movie

Read the article: You KNOW what movie he's making.
And why Tokuma isn't saying one way or the other.
