Brilliant voice actor. His narration at the start of Mobile Suit Gundam is something that I'll never forget.

Rest in peace. My favorite role of his was Karin from Dragon Ball. Such an amazing voice.

Man, I was just watching the first episode of Yawara again last week. He brought such incredible life to Jigoro, bringing lots of laughs to the series. Saw an interview from his timing doing Yawara, and he seemed just as jolly as Jigoro himself.
He was also excellent as Netero, having seen the newest film and then the recent TV episodes. It's sad he couldn't see the role through to the end. Can't imagine anyone else as him now Last edited by xScar on Mon Jan 27, 2014 7:53 am; edited 1 time in total |

Such an unexpected and sad news. He had a lot of amazing voice over roles. I especially like his roles as Jigoro in Yawara and Mito in Nausicaa. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. My he rest in peace.

Man, I get so much nostalgia when I hear his voice. So many smaller roles, but very recognizable and distinctive in the utmost respective way. You will be missed, Nagai-san.

Bleh, this is sad news. R.I.P.
Fantastic resume this guy had. Loved his Karin-sama, Cherry and Happosai. And I'm watching Mobile Suit Gundam ATM, so I won't be listening to his narration quite the same way, as you might expect. :( Sounds like Kappei Yamaguchi took it kind of hard as well. :/ |

Just heard his voice on Space Dandy a little while ago.
He had been on Sazae-san since the show began in the '60s. Pretty impressive. Aoni Pro says he died of Ischemic Heart Disease (Coronary artery disease). Last edited by mrsatan on Mon Jan 27, 2014 1:48 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Very sad.
Lots of love from other seiyuu on Twitter, including Wataru Hatano and Ai Maeda. I know this may sound strange... But I hope Nagai recorded enough lines spoiler[to reach Netero's death scene. Not saying this to be morbid. I just think it would be a kickass way to end someone's life.] I know I would want that for me. RIP, Nagai. Your voice will remain forever in this world. |
