Well now, I am officially jealous. Why can't Memphis have a place like this?
Also, I see Konata and Kyoko, but who's on the last mural over in the distance?

1) Memphis?! Count your lucky stars and enjoy your ridiculously good barbeque.
2) Forget the anime, the pizza sounds like the real attraction.

It's a Trap! No way this thing is real for it's intended purpose.

It looks like it is appropriately being ran as a restaurant first with the anime theme just a means to give a backdrop, weather the anime theme or the business stays for long only time will tell.

Having pleasure in the title makes it sound shady. What kind of pleasure are they serving with their pizza?

Kind of. At the core, this place is a club for more..well "trendy" people. I don't want to say hipsters, but I guess that's more or less the crowed that goes. The pizza side of it, is really blah. It feels like you're in a bathroom. The tv's by the bar don't play anime, all I've ever seen are sports games. Usually baseball, which I hate.
The pizza itself is terribly mediocre. Which I would be ok with if this was a pizzeria with an anime theme, but it isn't. The anime decoration was sprinkled on the top of the pre-existing layout.
The club is it's main focus and for good reason. First off, they can sell their mediocre pizza to the drunk kids. But, the real cash grab is from the constantly changing drink prices. I was charged 3 different prices for the same drink. Apparently this is a pretty common problem.
The prices in general are kind of silly for the quality and quantity that you get, but when you're drunk and hungry I guess neither of those things matter.

Well this is interesting and unexpected. Wish we had one in DC.

Me too, I don't know how many anime fans are there in that area, but hope there is enough people to keep that store open.

"Club atmosphere" and "provocative anime" don't sound like they'd mix very well. It's hard to imagine the average otaku enjoying the night club scene, or the average clubber enjoying ecchi anime.

I initially was't going to comment on the name, since there's a Dick's Sporting Goods store in my town but...
Quote: | Dick's Pizza and Pleasure |
COME ON. It's better than "Dick's Pleasure and Pizza," but either way, it makes me think of things that shouldn't go together. And to have anime as a major theme of it on top of that. Geeze, don't put a more exclusive name on an already fairly niche theme! It's worse than how there was a gas station near my campus called "Kum and Go" (which I once jokingly heard it referred to as Ejaculate and Evacuate), because hey, it's just a gas station, a place people go to out of necessity.

In retrospect the restaurant really should have put more thought into the name.

You would have to be a real dick to come up with an idea like this.

So here's an idea for hearing the anime on TVs. Set up headphone jack ports at stations at tables or the bar where people can plug in and watch. Eh? EH?
