I tried this once and it didn't work, but now I'm bored so here you go.

One Piece "Chase to Rainbase" Edit List
(Original Title: "The Arabasta War Front! City of Dreams, Rainbase")
Compiled by Yash

1) The episode title is changed in the dub. In the original, the title was shown over a black background, while in the dub, it's pasted over a shot of the desert.

2) A shot of Vivi crying is cut (3 seconds cut).

3) Vivi is given some extra dialogue at the very beginning.

Random note: For reference: Gum-Gum No Way was in the original as well.

4) An image of Toto, and Luffy telling Ussop that he won't drink all of his water in one gulp is cut (7 seconds).

5) Kanji reading "Katorea - Rebel Army Camp" is erased, before Koza is shown telling a kid to go home.

6) A short flashback to Koza as a child is cut (4 seconds).

7) Some kanji is erased off of a woman rebel's shirt.

8) Okay, this is weird. In the dub, Pell hands the letter back to Nebra, using reversed footage of Cobra handing the letter to Pell. In the original, he gets on his knees and reads the letter, and then asks Cobra if the letter is Vivi's. Oddly enough, the new footage makes up for the lost footage (2-3 seconds lost, 2-3 seconds gained).

9) Vivi's letter originally started off with the revelation that Crocodile is behind the plot to destroy Arabasta, whereas in the dub it begins with her stating that Igaram is dead.

10) A transition that looked like blood pouring, to the image of the people of Arabasta fighting, is done away with.

11) A flashback to Igaram's death is cut, as it was already explained earlier on in the letter (6 seconds cut).

12) The rest of Vivi's letter, explaining that she's traveling with the Straw Hats while showing each of the crew's faces, is cut (19 seconds).

13) A flashback to Luffy putting his arm out with a bandage on it, explaining that it's a mark of their friendship, is cut (7 seconds).

14) A shot of Chaka and Pell, after Cobra tells them that if they fight the Rebels then Crocodile will win, is cut (2 seconds).

15) "Casino" is erased off of Rain Dinners (despite Sanji, among others, being shown gambling in future episodes).

16) Smoker's drink is changed into Chaser's water.

17) Kanji is erased off of the employees' uniforms, and, as always, Smoker's jacket.

18) Chopper is given some rather immature dialogue here: "I have to go potty", "all pottied out", etc.

19) Navy super soakers!

20) One of the Baroque Work agent's guns is erased. No Kryptonite?

21) In addition to "CASINO" being erased off of Rain Dinners (which is now a resort, for reference), "Golden Slots" is also erased off of another sign.

22) More sign edits: "Casino" and "Shooting Raingold" are erased off of two signs in the overhead shot of Chopper.

23) Green Kryptonite guns.

24) Another sign edit, this time, erasing the words "Loose B Slots" (the B was the currency sign for Berry).

25) Another sign edit! The words "Coin Bandits" are erased off of a sign.

26) Bad pun time, this time from Sanji: "Without your big smokey guy, you guys are toast... And I'm the toaster", and "Now you're in the air force!"

27) "STRA" is erased off of a sign behind Sanji, before he kicks the Marines around.

28) Sanji taking a puff of his cigarette is cut (4 seconds).

29) "NUMBER10 Casino" is erased off of a sign.

30) "Big Chance" is erased off of a sign.

31) "Rain Dinners" is erased off of a sign - This one confuses me, since all of the other signs I could understand (as they're casino references), but yeah...

Random note: If you look carefully, you can see Pandaman near the end of the episode, who doesn't sing in the dub :/

I caught the episode last weekend, and it was laughably bad. Makes me glad that Naruto actually got a decent dub.

And the dialogue in the beginning when Luffy demands water seems pretty dubious to me...

This was actually one of the better episodes, dub wise, aside from all the sign edits (which was a pain to write down).

There weren't any real dialogue changes in the episode except for the bad jokes and Chopper's potty reference.

That's odd. I clearly remember the "Chopper Potty Episode" from waaaaay back in February/March. Is this a re-run?

Do you live in Australia?

Because it aired there first.

What episode number (in 4kids terms) was this? Good job btw.

At least they're keeping dialogue changes to a minimum now, although the corny puns still bug the snot out of me, we aren't totally losing any and all plot here. It could be worse it could be wose...... *shakes in corner*

What exactly did they skip? I'd think that Loguetown, Whiskey Peak, Drum and Littlegarden would have to stay, since Smoker, Chopper, and Baroque Works appear in the Alabasta Arc, which they're airing currently (and definitely can't skip). I heard that they skipped the Arlong Arc, and they probably skipped the Apis arc as well (if they did, then 4kids actually did something right for once).

They didn't skip the Arlong arc, they only messed it up really bad. They did skip the Apis arc, and they also skipped the Little Garden arc. They also merged a lot of episodes along the way.

And I like the Apis arc Sad .

Wow, nice list. You really did your homework Smile

I've yet to see the dub though, it sounds worse everytime I hear about it, which is truly a shame. Thanks for the info though, it's sad what they've done to this great series, but it's also good to know about it.

Now I seriously hate 4kids for ruining One Piece. They have **** it up for the last time. One Piece isn't even for the Y7 audiance. It's for the TV-PG audiance. So 4kids should not have licensed it in the first place. But I sure am glad they didn't get Naruto, Gundam Seed Destiny or Bleach. Because if they got Gundam Seed Destiny, Imagen what they would do to it. They might change Kira Yamato's name to Kyle Yonson (I know yonson's not a real name) and change Shinn Asuka's name to Sam Alen. Plus they'll edit out bloody scenes (like the one where spoiler[Stellar Loussier was killin' everybody with her deadly knife]) and replace weapons with toy weapons, plastic weapons, and stupid objects that are use for hitting people rather than killing people, and they'll edit Gundam weapons with nerf guns and plastic swords. They might even edit out intense explosions (like the one in the beginning of the first episode where spoiler[Shinn's family ran away from a very dangerous war]). But boy am I glad 4kids didn't license Gundam Seed Destiny Anime catgrin Because if they did, it would get butchered into a kiddy cartoon Crying or Very sad Save Neon Genesis.

For info about anime censorship, Here's a wikipedia source about it.

Not true. They will continue to f@$k up the series until
a) they decide to stop running it
b) their liscence runs out (praying to God on this one or
c) they won't stop and will keep butchering it for years to come.

A or B would be awesome, but we're prolly doomed to C.... and thousands of people who liked naruto could like one piece, but they don't because of a horrible dub. I only hope 4kids sees SOME truth in the fact Naruto is doing wildly better than OP because of it's accuracy towards the original. But they prolly won't.

They skipped the littlegarden arc, and they also skiped the segment with the whale Laboon at the grand line entrance.

We always go through this. It's primary audience is children. Editing something so that the content is suitable for children in other cultures is not the issue. The main issue is taste, not target audience.

haha, oh god, seriously you didn't think 4Kids would possibly even stand a change of getting anything Gundam related? You do know, even before Destiny was even conceived, that Bandai Ent basically have the rights to all Gundam Anime.
