Any news on Powerpuff Girls Z?
As far as I've heard, there's been zilch in the way of actual new information about it since the rather suspiciously-timed announcement at last year's TAF.
I'm still not entirely convinced that the whole thing wasn't just one really, really elaborate April Fool's Day joke from CN and whichever Japanese studio they used to animate the sample sequences.

Wow, I seriously didn't expect Kyoto Animation to remake the Kanon series when I first heard the news. Now it's going to be in it's ungodly, gorgeous animation format like Air TV, and there's a possibility it'll follow the PC game events more closely. YAY!!
Oh wait, Clannad is also another one based on a PC game from Visual Art's/Key, right? More Key goodness!!!

I was wondering about that when I saw the link to the TAF stuff, and there were a bunch of Powerpuff Girls Z screenshots and promotional things. It'd be nice to see the series actually come about!

I hope FUNimation was paying attention. The new Kanon looks like something they would now pick up. <-random speculation
Nobody tell Fred Gallagher this. He won't be able to do anything for a month.

While I haven't watched the original Kanon yet (it's still sitting on my hard drive waiting to be watched), I've heard good things about it and I'm happy to hear about a remake.

Ah, they seem to have refined the character designs a bit compared to the preliminary artwork and the animation tests last year.
Nice to see that that series actually got somewhere and didn't die in development.

Yippee! A Kanon remake by Kyoto Animation and Clannad is getting animated! I hope that Ayu gets a better wardrobe this time around.
Now if Kyoto Animation would just animate Planetarian.......

Hmm, new Kanon. Guess that's ok, but...
I'm looking more forward to that new PPG anime. One of my favorite American cartoons. Those pictures look really cool. Why the heck is Big Billy's eye showing though? I thought he was a cyclops but from that picture it looks like he may have two eyes... I don't know, but that's how it looks. Anyway, I'll definately be seeing it when it comes out. 52 episodes aren't what I usually go for but I'll make an exception for them. If it gets licensed and dubbed (which I see no reason why it wouldn't), it will be awesome if they use the original PPG voices. I'm hoping they'll use the same ones.

Also, I forgot to say, nice to see that Professor Utonium is an adult after all, and the professor kid is an entirely new character. That's one of the things about the initial concept art and test animation last year that didn't sit well with me, that it seemed like the professor kid was taking Professor Utonium's place.

Since the characters are CN's property to begin with, and since CN is a full partner and is funding the show, I don't think CN even needs to license it because I think CN has always had the rights from the get-go. It's the reverse of a normal licensing situation, they had to license the character concepts out to their Japanese partners.
