So, we went from battles of life-and-death to kids playing VR with absolutely nothing on the line? Yeah. that sure is progress...

I skipped Age, and the last Gundam I watched was 00. I'll be watching this mostly because of the nostalgia gundam models. Oh, and I bet that the main character becomes op later on. lol

Well... was there anything wrong with what I said? We HAVE gone from life-and-death battles (Gundam AGE) to kids playing VR with nothing serious on the line (it's a GunPla tournament). Unless there's some major twist along the line, there will be no real threat in this show. In YuGiOh, at least there WAS the threat of death in some of the duels.

I'm just saying, comparing a show to two trailers is a bit of an overkill.
I expect some kind of twist, though I could be wrong.

My same thoughts as some people. I miss some of the more mature style like from 00 and SEED. Well, I'll watch this but wasn't a fan of AGE either so not expecting much out of this. Then again, maybe this show might surprise me. I guess I'll have to wait to see.

How exactly is it not progress? What does going from killing people in a show to not killing people in a show have to do with progress anyway?

I don't see any reason to expect any twists. It is just fine as it is. They wanted to make a gunpla anime, they make it.
At this point, it makes no difference what Sunrise does. People would complain no matter what it is. Also there will never be an extremely dark, gritty, pure military based gundam with a cast of 30-40 year old caucasian males. Why? Because Gundam fans don't want something like that. They aren't going to start pandering a group that don't care about Gundam and bring them money. Those model kits need to be sold.

Ahh it seems like story will be dumb and character designs look horrible.But those mechas are in 2D and action in this promo looks great,so I will watch it.Yes, that is how desperate I have become for 2D mechas.
