Wow One Piece didn't sell that well even by it's standards usually it at least gets up to a 4.

I'm very torn about what my feelings are regarding Bakuman. Some elements of it I love like there's no tomorrow, while other elements I hate with the fiery passion of a supernova.
Hmm... What is a girl to do? Without unloading tons of spoilers, could I be so bold as to ask anyone out there (scanlation-readers, I mean): Does it get better? By that I mean, do the female characters get any kind of character depth or purpose beyond standing next to the male leads? Cuzz right now I swear to Ice-T, if one more person in the series cites a girl's cuteness for the only reason she's worthwhile, I am going to f***ing lose it. |

i can honestly say that the treatment of women in bakuman gets progressively worse the more the story progresses. however, my all-time favorite story arc is the one centered around takagi and the female casts, which does a good job fleshing out most of the ladies within that single arc. after that, they're back to cutesy, fanservice moe-machines, though. =\ as for one piece, wasn't the reason it sold so well, because viz released so much of it at once last year? i'm just glad it's still ranking in the top ten spots even after the release schedule has slowed down. |

I don't think the treatment of women gets any worse. Aoki hasn't been introduced yet, and she's one of my favorite Bakuman characters. Her character development is amazing.
Also, a certain female ends up being one of the duo's biggest rivals. |

OMG I think I am you. Haha. I stopped reading Bakuman for the same reason women are treated. I liked the author's other works though, like Hikaru no Go and Death Note. But Bakuman is really different and I really can't relate to any of the characters or storyline. I heard from a friend that the story gets worst. |

Where i'm at in each manga, I'm so glad Naruto is at the top spot and One Piece, I don't really care about. And Bakuman's still selling? Hmm, might want to continue that.

Wow.. Its weird to see One Piece in the New York Times Bestselling Manga list. Many because Naruto takes over when it comes to America, but One Piece in Japan DOMINATES! Now some people in America are taking intrest, maby be cause of spoiler[ the time skip in One Piece? I thought One Piece will make it on the list on the 65 volume when it comes out, but I guess more eyes are looking at it.]

LMAO oh wow. No one's ever said that to me before. ^5 comrade! (I spy with my little eye... a new friend?) Yeah, same here. I haven't read Hikaru but I enjoyed a lot of Death Note. It's sad to say, but I've gotten the unfortunate impression that T.O. either doesn't have any clue how to write realistic female characters, or, worse... they do know how, but prefer these cardboard cutouts that aren't even 1-dimensional. They're 2 crappy possibilities, but I pray the former is the reason, since the latter makes my soul cry and my body want to vomit in rage. |
