-Note- I am not talking about their weekly virtual coupon codes.
So I guess during the fall season or so Rightstuf sent their lastatest catalog out which includes a $5-10 (i forget the exact amount) off a $60 purchase. At first I was delighted at the coupon because I easily spend around 100-150 dollars a month on dvds. Then I realized that your order needs a total of $60 total that is NOT excluded from coupons. After some thinking I realized that I almost never buy anything that is eligible for coupon discounts from rightstuf. These eligible items seem to usually be new releases, although not always. My usual purchases all seem to be excluded from coupon discounts, even if they are a new releases. In fact I think the last thing I bought that I could have used a discount was Toradora Box 2. Everything else since then has been during sales/clear outs etc. I realize many of you spend lots of money on dvds and that lots of you buy new releases, but do you guys always make use of your coupons? How many of you never use them? Depending on how things fall out I may just post my coupon code here for anyone to use around March, unless something tickles my fancy. |

To tell you the truth, I've never used a Rightstuf coupon in my life. I think I get mailed a catalog about once a year, but I've never thought to look for a coupon code. How do you access the weekly virtual coupon codes?

I've used a $4 off order of $60 or more coupon one time. Back during the last Viz sale at the end of December, I not only ordered a bunch of Viz stuff (I waited for this sale since most of my manga is Viz), but a bunch of other non-Viz stuff. At least $60 of that must've been non Viz since the coupon worked. But since I usually order stuff off sales, bargain bin, or weeklies, I don't usually have a good opportunity to use the coupons (not to mention that I tend to go for minimal shipping amount of about $50, though I would go to $60 if the $4 thing would work on everything).
I don't often buy new anime, I often get new (and used) manga, I just wait for TRSI sales, the only reason I used the last coupon was because I was behind on a lot of stuff (even got a Got Anime? membership, which paid for itself on that order ) |

I usually managed to use 1 of the catalog coupons in the 3 months or so they're valid... but no, it's not something I actively try to make use of. The weekly specials and studio sales are just so much better, there's no reason to try and use the others.
My last coupon was on a Toradora set, since I really wanted it and wasn't sure if it would be available with the regular sales (which is has been, of course, but for about what I paid anyway.) Basically, I never order without some sort of discount. If the item is 'full price', I check the catalog and gotanime.com to see what kind of coupons I can get. I usually find one I can make work. |

Sorry I might not have been very clear but I meant their weekly sales on their front page (right now it's for Tokyo Pop), the ones they update every thursday. Sometimes they have a little coupon code you type in to show to get thediscount, although lately they've all been 'No Coupon Code'. Inside the catalog they send us 1 of the pages is a has a coupon code on it that you can use. The last one they sent in the fall expires around March. -Edit- wow I forgot to mention I never really made use of the GotAnime? site. Thanks for the tip, I completely forgot about it. Argh, I think I stuffed the catalog somewhere and I'm not sure if I'll be able to find it easily. I may have even turfed it (since I have no need of a hard copy catalog). Anyway, thanks to DuelLadyS, I checked out gotanime.com and learned that you can get coupons that way, which is good to know.
However, like most of you, I rarely buy anything full price from TRSI in the first place, so my chance to use any coupon is pretty limited. |

Ah, the "no coupon code required" thing confusing you or something?
They only tend to use them on sales like "##% off everything in stock clearance sale!", seeing how the "in stock" status can change for items every day, just changing the price on everything in stock might not be as feasible for the system or something. For specific company sales, which it usually is, the system appears to just change the price everything that company sells, thus making the coupon code unnecessary. As for using their current company sales, I use it whenever I want to bulk order something from a specific company. I usually go for Viz and Vertical sales personally, every so often a Funimation sale (like I said, I usually do manga more than anime). Sometimes I'll use Tokyopop sales too except when I bulk ordered during the Viz sale, I also ordered the few Tokyopop books I wanted at the time so I'm good for now. And their weekly sales are different from that Tokyopop sale you speak of, the weekly sales obviously change every week. Certain things will rotate in and out on there on a fairly reliable basis (for example, the Aria seasons) so if I want a specific Aria season set, I'll wait for it to cycle into the weeklies then order it (if there's something else I want for free shipping, that works too, might throw on manga for free shipping too). If I really want it, I'll also see if the daily deals synch up with something else I want, otherwise I'm most likely to place the order on Wednesday evening if I want something in the weekly specials, wait to see if something shows up. Or wait to see if the company sale will change before the next weekly specials do, I often try to synch up as many deals that I want as humanly possible. Sometimes seeing what's excluded from the weekly deals after the Thursday update might give you a hint as to the next upcoming sale (like seeing all the Funimation titles suddenly disappear from the weekly specials is often an indicator for me that one is coming up at the next sale change). |

And don't forget to check out "Shawne's Daily Deals" whenever you place an order. Click on "Top Categories" at the top of the page and look on the left hand side. There's 10 deals on various products and they change every day.

I normally buy from Right Stuf when they have a studio sale and when the coupons cannot be used.

Since I'm a newer anime collector, the only coupons I've recieved were from the Fall Anime Catalog they sent ou tto me a few months ago. Since nothing I order fits what qualifications the coupon lists, I've never used them.

I got one in the mail from them last month but it was absolutely worthless considering it was only for In-stock items, and wasn't good for any newer Funimation products which negated everything on my saved wish list. I pretty much either had buy $50 worth of T-Shirts and porn or nothing, and I didn't need any extra expenses with a big anime purchase coming up next month.

Hello, I am typically use rightstuf coupons especially if there are many opportunities that I had been given coupons to get discounts. My friends and I are anime addicts and we really subscribe in any anime episode and series. We had collections of anime's DVDs and coupons helped us to have it. Super Bowl Commercials 2011 Coupon
