That would have been pretty useful when I was out there in 2007. I suppose if I were more adventurous and just walked into shops without worrying that it was the wrong one then I could have found more places that I wanted to see though.

Sounds pretty useful for foreigners and natives alike. So...does it have shops programmed in the system or is like Eden of the East where you point that camera at something and it tells you all about it?

Question for those who have it. Does it include cultural details such as the location of the small inari shrine in the middle (literally) of the block near the Don Quijote store?

Would have been useful in 2001 but they didn't have a need for apps or what not.
Any rate there are plenty of written guides that had existed since 2001 on the net and in print (how else did I find out about everything). Obviously there are changes like the 1st Gamers that used to be beside K-books. Things change on a dime. This would just make it easier since there are so many changes. But wouldn't a gps have the same things? Maybe in no so much detail. I suck more at directions than anything else. |

Like Sailor S, last I was in Akiba was 2007. Not knowing my way around was part of the adventure, although it did involve my stopping another Anglophone to ask for directions. Besides, if I had this app, I wouldn't have been able to talk with a fellow American about how to avoid Akiba electronics rip-offs...or maybe he was Canadian.

They're going to need to add French, Italian, and Russian because there are French speakers, Italian speakers, and Russian speakers anime fans that need this when they go to Japan. |
