I haven't bought anime for a long time because its too expensive and my money ends up going to manga and books, etc. I dont mind watching vhs movies so I figure I'll just get the anime I want on vhs. The problem is that sites that sell anime have huge dvd selections but small vhs with incomplete collections, random volumes, and whatnot. Anyone know of any good sites? Thanks.

-/-scratches head-/-

Why buy VHS when everything out there is pretty much being released on DVD and buying DVD is just as expensive as buying VHS tapes, and DVD's have everything on them that used to take two VHS tapes to do, also VHS tapes usually only had two episodes on them, DVD's have as many as 8 episodes on them on official releases.

VHS tapes are pretty much outdated with DVD's and now Blu-ray's starting to show up (Bandai intends to start releasing anime on Blu-ray discs)

Oh, and another thing...
NOBODY RELEASES ANIME ON VHS ANYMORE, not for the last 5 years at least.

Because I've found cheap shows on vhs at a local used game store such as Gun Smith Cats, Cutey Honey, etc. really cheap. I was just wondering if there were any sites selling old anime on vhs, I'm not looking for new shows, just older stuff.

Amazon sells quite a bit of old (used) VHS. Alternatively, you can check here but I've never bought from them.

You can get all 3 episodes of Gunsmith Cats with all the extras on DVD for around $20. DDD might sell it for less than $15.

TRSI has the regular Gunsmith Cats DVD for $8.99 and the Essential Anime DVD for $17.98

Plus most companies (like ADV) are releasing DVD only so you won't be able to get the latest releases

Gimme Anime has a decent selection of new and used due to it's consignment program. The prices can look a little strange because the seller gets to dictate the price.
