Haven't seen any of the Appleseed installations, but... it's good that I.G. is using CG for something that'd match it perfectly.

I've become quite the fan of Junichi Fujisaku's work after watching some of his GitS:SAC episodes and reading his novels (released in English by Dark horse). Maybe I'll give this show a look-see.

Another mediocre title to put with the rest of them. The outdated CG, the cell shaded look no one else seems to like. They better do something different.
I love appleseed, it will just never get the fan attention that GitS has.

I say that Section 23 is going to license this with a dub, you know since they already have the both movies and they went through the trouble of re dubbing the first movie. Can't wait.

To be honest, I'm not exactly dying for a third Appleseed adaptation but hey, it might be worth watching.

Remember that Appleseed started as a Manga (Damnit Shirow, enough with the posterbooks already! Get back to Appleseed 5!). Then there was the cel-animated OVA, which was not bad, but nothing to really write home about.
Then there are the two utterly awful CG movies.
I'm not sold on an entirely CG series but as long as Shinji Aramaki (excellent mechanical designer, downright awful director), and especially Romanov Higa, are kept way the hell away from it I will be cautiously optimistic.

I wouldn't call the two CG movies utterly awful. Despite some plot holes and a generally uneven story, the first Appleseed movie was quite good. Yes, the animation took some getting used to, but I personally found that it grew on me. Ex Machina was fair at most, but I attribute its shortcomings to its producer, John Woo. It ended up being a mindless American-style action flick with even more absurd physics than the first one.
By the way, wasn't there talk about an Appleseed TV series project a few years ago that got canceled?

Yep, thank God it did. I think it was associated the the Catblue Dyamite director. Yuck!
Now we got Jinni and Production I.G. Yippee!!!!!
Hopefully, we can get BLAME! also. I've gotten both DVDs and models (Killy and Sana-Kan) and really want to see what they can do with it.
