I was wondering if it's permissible to discuss Doujinshi matters in the manga forum, considering that the ability to sell them in the retail forum has already been assured. However, I never want to break rules!

I have no problem with a doujinshi discussion but be reminded this forum is safe for work - meaning language and images must be PG-13 at most. I would imagine that being a hindrance to any discussion of doujinshi, but those are the rules, and so long as they are adhered to, it's fine.

The topic isn't big enough for its own subforum, but a thread in the manga forum is probably the most appropriate.

I didn't intend to discuss anything dirty; I was instead afraid that because of their arguable legal gray area that talking about doujinshi may have been discouraged. I don't own any hentai doujinshi. Embarassed

Doujinshi ≠ hentai, porno, or even ecchi
Doujinshi ≠ using established characters from commercial series

It's just drawing pornographic spinoffs of characters from popular titles is much easier to sell than drawing non-pornographic stories with original characters, making the former overwhelmingly outnumbers the latter.

While what I’ve collected so far use characters from popular series (though not at all in a pornographic way,) I certainly don't limit the world of Doujinshi to that. In fact, should I ever be lucky enough, I would love to try something totally fan original.

So I should feel free to create my thread?
