It's a blustery day out there today, and not the fun kind with Heffalumps and Woozles but cold wind and rain. If you're also in the midwest suffering through the cold front, why not take your mind of things by looking through our new Thursday specials? (People in other locales can look, too. We're not weather-ist.)

Clue In to Savings - At Least 40% OFF DVDs & Blu-ray From Section23!
Right Stuf is on the case! Clue in to savings on titles from Section23 Films and the labels it distributes, including Sentai Filmworks and Maiden Japan and more. You'll find a lineup of hot new releases and fan-favorite titles, including Un-Go, Penguin Drum, Croisee in a Foreign Labyrinth, Persona 4, Intrigue in the Bakumatsu ~ Irohanihoheto and much, much more!

From now through October 22, the "your price" listed is the price you pay - no coupon code required - and these new prices represent a savings of at least 40% OFF the retail prices of all DVD and Blu-ray titles distributed by Section23 Films, Sentai Filmworks, Switchblade Pictures, Maiden Japan and Happy Carrot! (This includes items that are pre-order, in stock, on order and special order!)

Win a copy of Boogiepop Phantom!
With Halloween just a couple weeks away, get into the spooky spirit of the season, and enter our latest contest for your chance to win a copy of the Boogiepop Phantom Complete TV Series DVD Collection.

To enter, just fill out the form here before the end of the day on October 24, 2012.

Where did all of the page numbers go?
Something seem different when browsing our book sections? We've moved the page counts for books from the titles (you know, "(192 pgs)" or whatever) to the details section within the item description itself (aka, that place where everyone looks to see what the runtime is and argue whether or not that means an OVA has been included). Just a bit of housekeeping to put similar data together and get it out of the headers. Smile

New Great Eastern Policy
Hey, have you noticed that occasionally Great Eastern products can take what seems like forever to come in? Yeah, we noticed that too, and Shawne doesn't like it when we can't get your orders to you right away because you're waiting on, say, a towel. In response, we're working on a system with GE to keep better track of stock levels and product availability. This means we'll be removing GE products from our store if we don't think we'll be able to get them in, and re-listing them later if we find out they've become available again.

Hopefully this will resolve the long wait times, and should be pretty transparent, but if you find yourself with any questions please feel free to ask in this thread (generalities) or contact Customer Care (specific orders).

Fight Child Slavery with Right Stuf and Compassionate Journeys
We're proud to announce a new program to allow fans to join us in supporting Compassionate Journeys, a non-profit organization that supports those who work to rescue and empower trafficked children in Ghana, West Africa. Please consider joining us as we support this very worthwhile cause.

Shawne set this up personally, so if anyone chooses to donate I know he'll be very happy. Myself, my favorite part about the charity is its goal to create a sustainable economy via farming to reduce the reliance on charity and its focus on the future, not just today.

We've added live chat!

OK, Dingo:

Sentai: is there any possibility of the web site telling us if the item is packaged in a "Stack Pack"?? This is an issue in determining which version of a show to buy.

@ Rightstufspecialsminion

I just saw that Gundam 00 Season 2 was de-listed at TRSI, but I've had it on order as "More coming soon" for a couple weeks. Does this mean that I won't get this now?

Thanks

Your best would be to probably look to google. I've never seen that sort of info listed on TRSI.

Speaking of the website, is there any way to search for titles that have a counter on them? It would be nice to just have a list of items with that instead of having to keep tabs on each and every title I'm interested individually.

Chances are if it's
1.A Sentai Title (because I don't think anyone else uses them)
2. A "Complete Collection" released after they became Sentai a few years ago. Lets say Post Sept. 10th 2010
3. Previously released in Parts, so thus a series that's more than one season or 24-26 episodes long or longer

Then it's an infernal stackpack and don't buy it.

If that is a short one season series or a "part" then it's okay.

I'd like this too.

It seems a bit nitpicky but, I really do not like those Stack Packs. Have seen people commenting on other forums about their dislike for them as well.

Third-ing this. I hate stackpacks and have inadvertently bought 2 of them. If a release was marked as a Stack Pack, I would go significantly out of my way to get a different version, even if it cost more money.

Media Blasters also uses Stack Packs on occasion. The fairly recent Tweeny Witches complete collection came in one.

Packaging is an issue. Funimation and NISA make a big deal about there limited editions. Even TRSI notifies you when they reissue one of their series in Lightbox format. Further, if you look at a given series on TRSI's website there are often two or sometimes three version of a given show listed. In many cases the only difference is the form of the package. Knowing if a series is singles in a box, thinpack cases in a box, a litebox or a stack pack is significent to the buying decision. Come to think of it the post card packed in TRSI's releases still askes what your favorite package type is.

Not necessarily. Both KIBA's parts 1 and 2 (26 episodes each) were stack packs.

I think Kruszer was talking about something with around 12-13 episodes when he said short one season series

Not at the moment, though I'll forward your suggestion on. Part of the problem is that publishers don't usually tell us what kind of packaging they plan to use, and even if they did, they might change their mind or switch for a later print run.

It's coming up on November, so Bandai is starting to ship out the last of their inventory. Unfortunately, they weren't able to fill our orders for Gundam 00 season 2. We removed it from the site as soon as they told us we wouldn't be getting any in. We apologize that we weren't able to give more notice that these were running out.

It is possible that, in the process of cleaning out their warehouse or taking in returns, Bandai may unearth more copies, at which point we might be able to offer them for sale, but that's obviously not anything I can guarantee.

We have a closeout category which lists every single item we have on closeout (that is, with a counter). It's a pretty long list.

@ RSSM

Thanks for the reply. So do I have to request that it gets removed, or will it be removed automatically?

Also, any idea if you guys will be getting copies of Gundam Stardust Memory? That one's been on order for awhile too. I'm starting to get nervous that I won't get these two titles. Sad
