I'm kinda surprised that Bleach got best backgrounds design. I guess since there's so little of it in the manga, it allows for some creativity in the adaptation.

Kyla Hebert

Should be "Kyle Hebert".

Say what you will about the Academy Awards, but at least they acknowledge good films you'd never hear of otherwise.

>_>... Category 2 is a crock o' shyt.

Categories 14 and 19 baffle me. I mean, I'm a TTGL fan, but...really? Eh, but maybe it was for more recently aired series, in which case I wouldn't really argue too much then.

But um, TRC. An action manga. Although I haven't been keeping up with it lately, so maybe it gets more intense later on...

Surprised there was so many Bleach winners, but then again I voted for some of them so maybe I'm not Smile

(*2nd on the Kyla-Kyle spelling - in need of correction)

Wow. They're so not catering to titles that are massively popular AT ALL. Rolling Eyes

Shame, I clicked on the link out of curiosity and hope that it'd introduce me to something I've never heard. All it did was pander to things already insanely popular, not to mentioned already licensed here. And this is what they want to do to the Academy awards? Uh, heaven forbid. Popularity contests were something I hoped to see left behind in high school.

Yep yep yep the usual suspects win. The only real worthy one among the list was The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

I like Tsubasa yes (though I've come to hate the CLAMPies that follow it religiously) but the plot has just dissolved into something so bloody strange and beyond words. Now I'm debating if I even want to finish it.

and they tried to make it look serious by putting 1 unknown manga (category 20) and 1 that deserves the award (category 21)

It's funny, I noticed that it was mispelled Kyla when the darned polls first came out.

Ironically, Kyle's last name is usually the part that's commonly spelled wrong.

Who votes for these? I hope it's the fans and not the industry because then maybe I can understand why it just looks like a popularity contest.

The only winners I can respect out of these are best dramatic manga= Monster and best feature film= The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
