KRAZY! Cosplay Party
www.japansociety.org/cosplay Saturday, March 28, 5:30-8:30 pm In conjunction with the exhibition KRAZY! The Delirious World of Anime + Manga + Video, Japan Society holds its first-ever Cosplay Party, inviting local fans to create and showoff costumes of their favorite characters, and share their enthusiasm for anime, manga, and video games. The Cosplay Party includes classic anime film screenings, a costume competition with prizes from Kinokuniya Bookstore and Manga Entertainment, and free admission to KRAZY! Only costumed individuals are eligible for the competition. Tickets are $10 advance www.japansociety.org/cosplay or $15 at the door More Information Cosplay Contest: In order to compete in the KRAZY! Cosplay Contest you must have a costume that fits into one of the following categories: - Anime/Manga/Film/US Comics - Videos Games - Original/Other No store-bought or rented costumes will be eligible to participate. Contestants must appear in some form of legitimate costume. Japan Society staff reserves the right to determine what actually constitutes a legitimate costuming effort. Store bought props and/or pieces are allowed. You may enter as a group. For a winning group there will only be one prize, and the group leader gets it. Please keep that in mind when entering and registering There will be an area to don your costumes at Japan Society Prizes: 1st Place: $200 gift certificate to Kinokuniya Bookstore 2nd Place: $100 gift certificate to Kinokuniya Bookstore 3rd Place: $50 gift certificate to Kinokuniya Bookstore Special Online Competition at Ninjin.com (where site visitors of Ninjin.com will vote for best costume): DVDs of Ninja Scroll, Straight Jacket and Ghost in the Shell provided by Manga Entertainment Special Online Competition at Japan Society (where site visitors of japansociety.org will vote for best costume): Street Fighter 4 for PS3 Japan Society is located at 333 E. 47 Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue), New York, NY 10017 |
