I hope to be able to see one of these at SDCC this year. I'd really like to have one, but it'll take up a lot of space (I have far too many toys already )

$460 for a model? One of things i can't wrap my head around, why would anybody pay that much for a model?

I have a feeling you don't understand the passion of nerds and their habits of spending money on such things. These massive figures are almost full metal and have full range of motion, and that figured into the weighty price. Hell, perfect grade Gundams will almost consistently run you well over $100 each, usually far more than that, and they're still just mostly plastic in the end.

I would get this one if i had extra $460 to burn. Now give me Shin Mazinger season 2 and we will have a happy 40th Anniversary for Mazinger

People would pay more than that for a train or plane.

Or space ships or high end figures. Speaking from personal experience, I can confirm the enurtsol's statement.

Yep. For me it's not an issue of $, but of space and utility.
I enjoyed the original and various other shows, but I'm not a die-hard for this particular title.
If it were a Gundam, I'd already be re-arranging things in a room or two to house the thing and calling a local cabinetry maker to have a custom display case made.
Nerdom is serious (and expensive) business.
