Anybody know who is doing the voices for the dub?
It would be great if they got the folks who did the GitS:SAC voices... This just may be my first BluRay buy |

Check the encyclopedia page it'll list the voices. It's the same English dub that they got over in the UK so yes, it's the SAC cast I think.

Thanks, from that page I went to this link: http://innocence.bandai-ent.com/ It states "Includes All-New English audio track by same studio for Solid State Society", which is a relief... I was disappointed that the "The Laughing Man" & "Individual Eleven" OAV DVDs had different dub voices from the series ![]() |

Don't buy this Blu-ray. BD was made to maximize cinematic viewing enjoyment, as in 1080p picture quality and lossless audio, in which the U.S. release of Innocence does not have.
Bandai America screws us over by only putting the film on a single-layer 25GB disc and providing a measly Dolby Digital 5.1 English and DD EX 5.1 Japanese track. Whereas the Japanese "Absolute Edition" has both a Dolby TrueHD 6.1 and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 6.1 track on a dual-layered 50GB disc. In addition to the lossless audio, the Japanese edition also has higher bitrates (low to mid 30s versus high 20s from the U.S. edition). However, the one drawback between the two (if you even call it that) is the lack of an English dub on the Japanese edition. No big loss for me, personally, but I'd gladly take lossless audio any day after hearing the difference in other films on my sound system, and this is with crappy speakers. Unfortunately, the Japanese edition is lacking in some extras as well, so it's not quite "absolute" as advertised. I recommend you wait for either a re-release (some kind of special edition in America, but seeing as how they screwed fans in the first run, I doubt they'll do it) or wait for a new release from another country, then import it. |

Is this just on BR or will there be a DVD release too? Because that's what I'd want. I don't have anything that'll play the Blue-Ray format and don't intend on buying it.

I'm sure they could release a DVD if they wanted. I mean, the audio is already DVD-quality, so all they have to do is downgrade the feature and extras back down to 480i.

Um...they have released a DVD. And a limited edition of it, too. |

Great news for DVD advocates, then! Not for a BD enthusiast, like myself, though. I'm hoping the U.K. or Australia makes a more competent release, but I hate those age rating labels on the front (.. so ugly).

Mwuhaha! Sweetness! Thank you. Time to replace my crappy old Dreamworks sub only release with something better. |

Manga UK's release appears to be quite fine to me. Came with two discs, multiple audio for the English dub and quite a few extras. Most anime fans over here hate the presence of those labels for reasons other than their appearance. |
