Well, while it's not quite "using anime to sell booze", it certainly isn't the first time anime & manga inspired alcoholic drinks.
If the trivia on the Encyclopedia is right, then Ring ni Kakero got a drink named after one of the special moves used in the manga: the Heart Break Cannon... You know, I wouldn't mind trying that one out as that name sounds badass for an alcoholic drink.
