No offense, but sometimes, when critics compare the English VA with it's seiryu, I can't help but feel it's a bit biased...
I mean, I thought Luci's version of Tenma, was infinately superior to Ami's!
Other than that, this review was top-notch! But you obviously have a heart for series like Nana...

Huh. For a videogame cash-in, this got a much better review than I expected...

I actually might pick this up. I mean i have to wait two more weeks until Tower of Druaga:Sword of Uruk comes out and a month an half until D.Gray-man season 1 part 2 on Blu Ray comes out. To be an anime fan is to have a lot of patience....

I can't say nothing bad about this show. It's actually really good, The plot flows very well. It's not heavy handed in it's story telling and it's just good Clean Fun. Is it strange to say this is one Video Game Adaptation that actually done well?

You mean seiyuu I'm sure, unless the blue dragon of Kyoto suddenly got a career in voice acting (which would rock). Okay the dragon nut is shutting up now
Considering the game is bombastically bad and just too trite to be taken seriously, I can't imagine the anime doing much better. I'm pretty sure this game would appeal to kemono-lovers or something. Other than that, a disposable anime that pretty much deteriorates the genre for anyone who wants something better. They're going to have to do better than "humans being enslaved by beastmen" to catch someone's attention here.

Just wondering... How exactly is this series socially-conscious? I don't remember hearing a clear explanation yet.

I know it sounds very strange but this show actually wasn't that bad. I have no idea whether it's because I can suspend disbelief or I have a high tolerance for pain. But really it did not bore me.

Too bad the actual game itself is a generic piece of JRPG trash.

Not that I'm terribly interested in either, but does anybody know if they actually kept the dub consistent with the game's localization or vice versa? That kinda thing always tweaks me. :P Sometimes they get it right, like the .hack games and anime (even if for some weird reason they used two different dub casts for G.U. and Roots - and FYI, .hack//Roots had the better dub overall :P); sometimes not so much (Zone of the Enders, God help me, ADV's dub is better than anything Konami could ever hope to produce and yet I feel an intense need to bludgeon somebody for not getting half the names right).

Not at all really, pretty much everyone's name has a different pronunciation and everyone has different voices, but it's for the better trust me. This anime is 100 times better than the game because it actually makes sense and doesn't suck. The anime may not be the best out there or the deepest but it has a lot of heart and is entertaining.
Anyway this series actually had a few charming, emotional and touching moments to my surprise. I found the English dub to be better than the Japanese dub myself, added much more emotion.
The series is very funny, has a load of chuckle moments. Although it doesn't need repeated viewing immediately I thought the series was still worth buying and one to rewatch on a boring Sunday afternoon. The main issue is the ending, it is rushed HORRIBLY. They had to end everything in one episode since the creators seemed to think they had more episodes coming. It was satisfying to an extent but had the show gone on for a little longer, it may have been more satisfying.

So the fight scenes suck? Then this is a pass.

christb is entirely correct.
People, do not buy this game, I implore you. As one fan of JRPG's to another, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
It just... attempts to thrive on tired roleplaying game mechanics and does a good job of it, thus resulting in a very VERY boring game. Random Battles, incredibly basic turn based combat (Though I'll give them credit, the way it worked was a LITTLE unique), a story that does not seem to really care about itself...
And as said earlier, different voice actors. Someone should fire the person at Sega or whoever was in charge of the dub, because they made an incredibly stupid decision not using the same actors. As a result, it means akward tones and halfassed acting. This leads to the cutscenes being annoyingly long and you thinking to yourself, 'Why am I playing this game if it doesn't want me to take it seriously?'.
Do NOT buy this game people. The anime is a much more enjoyable experience.

This is one of the shows that surprised me with just how enjoyable it is. This is mostly due to the excellent Japanese cast, but I also found the story not to be half bad either. Yeah, it's difficult to take completely seriously, but Sands of Destruction never aspires to be anything otherwise.
Plus, it has got a rockin' opening theme.
